Lavender Face Cream Recipe
Pampering myself at home is an important part of my self-care routine. Have you had a chance to try my easy pumpkin facial mask recipe? It’s perfect for fall.
If you love using essential oils, make sure you get your free copy of my essential oil diffuser blends recipes.
This homemade facial is an easy way to return moisture to your skin. And, depending on the size of the oats, you can use this as an exfoliator or blend them finely and use it as a facial cream.
This natural face moisturizer recipe is perfect for aging skin. The Greek yogurt contains lactic acid which is a natural exfoliator. This leaves you with healthier-looking skin naturally.
And, honey is a natural antibiotic so if you have acne-prone skin, honey is a wonderful ingredient for you to use in my lavender face cream recipe.
If you really want extra moisturizing, you can add a tiny bit of coconut oil. But, I find that the Greek yogurt makes a wonderful base that’s not too heavy.
How can I package this as a gift?
Since my Mom and I don’t get to spend anywhere near as much time together as I’d like, I have decided to invite her over for a DIY Lavender Facial, a cup of herbal tea, and a healthy treat.
This DIY Lavender Facial won’t contribute to the clutter problem although it could easily be placed in a pretty basket with a box of herbal tea, a washcloth, and some fair trade dark chocolate if you prefer.
Just be aware that this DIY Lavender Facial has no preservatives and will need to be refrigerated. For best results, make it up the day you intend to present it.
You can put this in a little 4 oz canning jar if you plan on giving it to them. Or, you can just mix it up in a little bowl if you intend on inviting them over for a mini spa day.
Can I add lavender oil to my face cream?
Too much essential oil on your skin can cause irritation. But, you can add one very small drop to this recipe. Just be sure to mix it very well.
What does lavender do to your face?
Lavender can be beneficial for skin with acne, work as a skin lightener, and reduce wrinkles. Get my soap book and learn how to make lavender soap and many of my other homemade soap crafts.
