Silhouette Craft Projects: Framed Irish Proverb
I have several HUGE tubs full of craft supplies and I know I really don’t need more. I’ve decided that Silhouette craft projects are a good way to use up some of the scrapbook paper I have.
So, I decided to create a framed Irish proverb for the living room using one of my favorite sayings. If you have a different proverb or Bible verse you like, you could certainly use that saying in place of the one I used.
Just be sure that you have enough room in your picture frame to display the entire thing.
Can beginners make this?
So, I’m a total novice when it comes to using my Silhouette Cameo. I’ve had it for quite a while but don’t really use it. I’ve decided to use the craft supplies I have so I hope that it will get more use. If you’re looking for Silhouette craft projects that are perfect for beginners, this is definitely it.
I found a lot of different Silhouette Cameo projects on Pinterest, but many of them were a bit too complicated for me to feel confident about making. Finally, there’s a list of Silhouette craft projects at the end of the post. I have used a Cricut Mini in the past.
If you’re looking for Silhouette Cameo gift ideas, you might want to check out this Silhouette monogram project I did. This easy monogram photo looks like you spent a ton of time on it. But, it is super easy to make with amazing results. It’s one of my favorite Silhouette craft projects ideas because it’s so versatile.
Silhouette craft projects supplies
- Silhouette Cameo with Silhouette Studio
- Card stock
- Picture frame with glass
- Glue stick
- White card stock for the background
Silhouette craft projects directions:
- Using this Irish Proverb, load your Silhouette Studio program and cut. I also used a free shamrock from the Silhouette site.
- Carefully apply the letters to a plain white card stock using a glue stick.
- Place your finished project in the frame. You can use a mat if you want or leave it as is.
That’s all there is to it. You can change the saying in the frame for different holidays or keep this Irish proverb up year-round. Using different colored paper will let you change the entire look and feel of your Silhouette craft projects. So, although I like the white background, you could definitely use cream, being, pale pink, or any other color that matches your decor or your project.
Finally, now that I’ve dusted off my Silhouette Cameo again, I hope to share some Silhouette craft projects with you each month. So, if you’re a novice like me, you will definitely want to check back each month (remember to subscribe) so you don’t miss out on the latest projects.
