Valentine Treats for Teachers Gifts
For many people, this holiday means candy and lots of it. Everywhere you look, there are heart-shaped boxes of chocolates and colorful candy hearts.
Red and pink lollipops sit in buckets at every cash register. Candy isn’t always a great choice for a gift especially if you don’t know the person your shopping for personally.
Diabetics should avoid large doses of candy. Someone watching their weight won’t appreciate a box of chocolate. Because I follow the Paleo diet, I would rather not have a box of chocolate for any holiday.
We’ve never known the kids’ teachers well enough to know if they would appreciate candy for Valentine’s Day or not. So, we try to think of other types of ideas to give when it comes to Valentines Day gifts for teachers.
Non candy Valentines for teacher
We chose Valentine treats for teachers that aren’t edible to be on the safe side. I had a cute tin bucket that I decided to decorate with Washi tape.
After I decorated it, I filled it with a variety of different beauty products that could be used for pampering.
Homemade Gifts for Teachers
Because I wanted the tin to be usable throughout the year, I didn’t do a typical holiday pattern with red, pink, white, and hearts.
You can use whatever color Washi tape you have on hand or buy some for a red and pink theme if you prefer.
If you don’t want to create your own container, you can easily use a basket that you have leftover from a previous holiday. Or, you can pick one up at the store.
We usually have at least two or three baskets in the closet that we haven’t found a use for.
Valentine’s Day gifts for teachers that aren’t candy
You can choose one or two of these ideas for a Valentine’s Day teacher’s gift. Or, you can choose a selection and make a gift basket.
It really depends on how well you know your child’s teacher and what you feel comfortable doing. There are some years where we only gave a small gift.
And, there are other years we got something a bit larger because the teacher had such an impact on one of the kids.

Here are some great ideas if you’re wondering what to get that special person on your list.
- Washcloth or bath puff
- Hand lotion. We like the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion.
- Boogie Wipes are perfect for snotty noses or sticky fingers.
- Puffs Fresh Face wipes are great for after a workout.
- School supplies like pencils, a small ruler, Post-it notes, or erasers are always good ideas.
- Instant coffee or a few bags of herbal tea.
- If you know the recipient well, you can always add an iTunes gift card or a gift card to their favorite restaurant for lunch.
