Healthy Broccoli Salad with Bacon
I love salads in the summer time. They are the perfect choice for lunch or a light supper. There’s no need to heat up the house or spend hours in the kitchen.
The ingredients for this healthy broccoli salad with bacon can be changed depending on what you have in the house at the time. The base, of course, is broccoli but I love to add in fresh greens to give it an extra boost.
What can I add to salad to make it taste better?
In addition, I toss in cheese, dried fruit, onion and bacon. In this version, I’ve added feta cheese, raisins, red onion and bacon crumbles.
You could try it with blue cheese and dried cranberries for a different taste.
This is an easy to make salad that takes practically no time at all to prepare. This is the dish that I tend to take to BBQs and picnics in the summer.
I love using Newman’s Own Creamy Caesar Dressing because it’s made with no artificial ingredients, preservatives, flavors or colors. Why not add a few pumpernickel croutons to the top?

Thanks, Nancy!
I want to try Raspberry & Walnut Lite Vinaigrette
I love broccoli salad and adding bacon can only make it better. I’ll surely be trying this when our broccoli comes in.
I would try the Organic Lite Balsamic Vinaigrette salad dressing. I can remember my mom using the processed Bacon Bits in our salad. They were so salty so real bacon would be tasty.
This sounds like a delicious salad. I love feta cheese!

I would most like to try the Greek Vinaigrette.

This recipe is so great and I can think of such great ways to switch ingredients and make it new each time. Love the idea of switching from feta to blue cheese.

I’m more concerned that I don’t see my favorite on that list – the Vidalia Onion dressing!
I absolutely love broccoli salad, this one sounds interesting with all the different elements, its sure to please. I don’t always love heating up the kitchen, and if you make the bacon ahead if time, you don’t have to either. Delicious, I’ve never tried Newmans Own, and Caesar Salad is my favorite right now. Thanks for sharing Ellen, pinning.
I would love the Poppy Seed Dressing!
