Low Carb Chocolate Mousse
Traditional chocolate mousse can have close to 40 carbs in a small bowl. For those that are watching their carbs, that’s a bit much.
This easy keto chocolate mousse is the perfect alternative to a regular chocolate mousse recipe. If you’re following the WW diet, this dessert has 3 WW points!
If you’re having a serious chocolate craving, this creamy chocolate mousse is just the answer. It’s a delicious dessert that does not use artificial sweeteners.
Does chocolate mousse have carbs?
Yes. Traditional chocolate mousse can have about 35 to 40g of carbs in it. This keto chocolate mousse has far fewer.
You get all the chocolate flavor you are craving in a low carb chocolate mousse that fits into the keto diet.
This product presentation was made with AAWP plugin.
Can you eat chocolate on a low-carb diet?
You definitely can. Look for sugar-free chocolate which will be a very high percentage of dark chocolate. We often choose Lily’s or Green & Black when we want a low carb chocolate.
This low carb chocolate mousse is also dairy free, vegan, and gluten free. It’s a delicious keto dessert that will satisfy your chocolate cravings.
What’s in chocolate mousse?
Traditional chocolate mousse contains sugar, heavy cream, and eggs. It often contains vanilla extract, cream cheese, and a whipped cream topping.
You can see how this wouldn’t work as a keto chocolate mousse.
What’s in the keto chocolate mousse recipe?
This keto chocolate mousse contains only 3 ingredients. It has persimmons, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Vanilla extract is optional.
Persimmon is high in fiber and relatively low in carbs. It works perfectly as the base for this keto mousse recipe.
I recommend this cocoa powder. For a sugar free cocoa powder, try this one.
What can I top keto chocolate mousse with?
You can make whipped cream with heavy whipping cream as a topping. If you want it sweeter, you can add an artificial powdered sweetener like a monk fruit blend.
To cut the carbs a bit more, you can use unsweetened cocoa and a sugar free sweetener in this keto chocolate mousse recipe. Try coconut cream whipped cream rather than traditional whipped cream.
You can also add one or more of these to top your keto chocolate mousse:
- Sugar free chocolate chips (these are our favorite chocolate chips)
- Orange zest
- Shredded coconut
- Whipped cream (sugar free)
You can also add powdered sweetener made with stevia to the top if you prefer.
Can I use double cream on keto?
Yes, you can make whipped cream with heavy whipping cream on the keto diet. Homemade whipped cream is one of my favorite splurges. Just beat until stiff peaks form.
