Christmas Essential Oils
When it comes to essential oils that smell like the holidays, there are several that come to mind. Of course, you can buy an essential oil blend already combined if you want to. This one is one of my favorites.
Grab a copy of your free essential oil diffuser blends while you’re here.
But, it’s really a lot more fun to make your own blends. And, it’s not difficult at all. You don’t need any special equipment. All you really need are the essential oils you want to use and a diffuser. I use one that’s similar to this diffuser.
I just love using essential oils to make my house smell amazing. Did you have a chance to try any of the fall essential oil blends I shared?
Of course, oils not only smell good but they have healing properties. For example, fir has calming and stabilizing properties that you’ll really appreciate during the hectic holiday time.
And, nutmeg helps to elevate your mood. I know that some people have a hard time during the holidays, so this blend can be comforting.
What essential oils make a Christmas scent?
There are many different types of oils that remind me of Christmas. But, you don’t want to just randomly start adding them together. Some scents will smell better than others.
Here are the oils I typically associate with Christmas. And, there are some suggestions below that I enjoy together. But, remember that you can always experiment until you find a blend that you really love the most.
- Pine
- Nutmeg
- Cinnamon
- Anise
- Cedarwood
- Frankincense
- Peppermint

How can I use diffuser Christmas blends?
The easiest way to enjoy these winter essential oil blends is to put them in your diffuser. But, if you don’t have a diffuser, you still have lots of options.
You can use these Christmas essential oil blends for candles. Just replace these blends I used here in my DIY soy candle with whatever blend you want to try. These make wonderful Christmas gifts.
And, you can also use these Christmas essential oil blends for soap. This is an easy soap recipe to start with. Just change the blends that you use.
Where can I find Christmas essential oils?
There is a huge selection on Amazon which is where I usually shop. You can buy one or two to experiment with. Or, you can buy a gift set or collection if there are a variety of blends you want to try.
But, there are also essential oils at stores like Walmart and Target. Just be sure that you buy essential oils and not fragrance oils. They aren’t the same thing at all.
My favorite Christmas essential oils
If you want a little bit of help narrowing your choices down, my favorite blend is:
- 4 drops of orange
- 4 drops of clove
- 3 drops of vanilla
This blend reminds me of those pomander balls that my mother used to put in her closet every year.
Finally, why not learn how to make your own diffuser.
