I love the way that fall smells from crisp red apples to cinnamon pine cones and pumpkin pie. And, thankfully, I can bring those scents inside easily by using my favorite oil blends.
What essential oils are good for fall?
You can buy lots of different oil blends that will help you scent your home. But it’s so much more fun to make your own.
Here are a few popular blends you can use if you prefer not to make them.
Can you mix essential oils with essential oils?
Yes, it’s very easy to mix EOs to create your own blends. It takes some experimenting to decide what types of scents go well with each other.
Fall EO blend DIY
These are the blends that I find smell the most like autumn. You can adjust the number of drops you use to make it smell the way you want to.
These work best in a 300ml diffuser.
- 2 drops of clove
- 2 drops of cinnamon
- 1 drop of nutmeg
Walk in the Woods
- 2 drops of fir
- 2 drops of cedarwood
- 1 drop of frankincense
Warm Autumn Day
- 1 drop of cinnamon
- 1 drop of clove
- 2 drops of ginger
- 2 drops of cardamom
- 2 drops of clove
- 1 drop of orange
- 1 drop of spikenard
- 2 drops of Frankincense
- 2 drops of fir
- 1 drop of sandalwood
- 2 drops of orange
- 1 drop of Frankincense
- 1 drop of lavender
How to scent your home with oils
One of the easiest ways to use scents in your home is to use a diffuser. You simply add a few drops of these along with distilled water and turn it on.
It’s an easy way to use EOs and it can be moved from room to room as you want. They even make plug-in diffusers to make the process easier.
I love being able to change the scents in my home without using artificial fragrances. There are just so many natural options.
Of course, you can also make your own soy candles using these blends if you like to light candles.
