Mother Daughter Bonding Time with Bigelow Tea & a Vanilla Chai Latte

Mother daughter bonding time is something that I’ve been missing lately.  When my daughter when little, she’d bring me “tea” in little plastic cups with a little plastic doughnut on the side.  Now that she’s in college, I get a lot less mother daughter bonding time.  I understand that. She’s a busy girl and juggling a job, college classes, and a social life keeps her busy.  That doesn’t mean that I don’t miss our tea parties from when she was little. She’s been on break from college for the past few weeks so I’ve been enjoying having her at home more often than normal.  She’ll be going back to college again in about a week so life will start to get hectic again.   Before she heads back to college, I wanted to have one more relaxing mother daughter bonding time with her.

Tea plays a big part in my life.  At the end of a stressful day, I look forward to having a cup of chamomile tea.  Whenever the kids got upset stomachs from nerves or illness, I have always given them peppermint tea. To this day, when my daughter isn’t feeling well, she still asks me to make her peppermint tea.  I hope that’s something that we keep as our time for many years to come.   I decided to put together a little pampering gift for her to have on hand when she starts classes again.  Since tea has always been a big part of our time together, I had to include several boxes of yummy Bigelow tea.  I was really impressed with the different types of teas I found.  I decided to go with some of the teas that we have always enjoyed together so I chose Bigelow Peppermint Tea and Bigelow Sweet Dreams Tea which has chamomile and mint.

I decided to introduce a new tea for our mother daughter bonding time – Bigelow Vanilla Chai.  I made this yummy Vanilla Chai Latte for us to enjoy along with a plate of cranberry walnut scones.

Then I gave her the pampering gift I put together for her.  I’m sure she’ll enjoy the Bigelow Teas, scented candle and warm fuzzy socks once college starts again. She’ll need to be able to unwind at the end of the day.

There are a lot of reasons I choose Bigelow as the brand of tea I purchase.  Bigelow is a family owned company that has been providing delicious teas to families for over sixty years.  I also appreciate that Bigelow has a SustainabiliTea program to help our planet. I love supporting companies that give back.  I also love that each Bigelow tea bag is individually wrapped in its own foil pouch. Not only does that help keep the tea fresh, it lets me slip a few in my handbag so I have them when I’m out.

Stop by the Bigelow Tea Blog for more great information about the brand and products. You can see my whole shopping trip on my Google + album or watch my slideshow below.

  10. Brown sugar in the tea - I wouldn't have thought to do that. I usually add vanilla sugar & cinnamon to mine.  If my local store carries the Vanilla Chai Latte, I'm going to try it with the brown sugar. Sounds so tasty. I may even package some up to send to my mom in Arizona. I miss sharing mother daughter time with her.
