If you’ve wondered how to make homemade brownies without starting with a boxed mix, you’ve come to the right place.  With all of the boxed mixes for bakintg for sale at the grocery store, I often wonder whether or not anyone makes these treats from scratch any longer.  Learning how to make homemade brownies couldn’t be easier and they really do taste so much better than the brownie mixes you buy in a box.

How to Make Homemade Brownies

Making homemade brownies is very simple and it requires only a few basic ingredients that you should have on hand. No need to run to the store for a box of brownie mix.  Once you’ve made your basic homemade brownies batter, you cane easily add nuts, chocolate or mint chips, sunflower seeds, carob chips, chopped candy bars or any number of other delicious add ins to make your brownies all your own.   I started with a basic batter and then took that batter and turned it into a Brownie Pecan Tart Recipe that I found in the book Deck the Halls – A Country Living Book.

  3. Preheat oven to 350F. Spread batter into a buttered and floured 11 inch tart pan with a removable bottom.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine pecans, butter, sugar, syrup, vanilla, and salt. Remove tart from oven and spread mixture over the top. Continue baking until a skewer inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs, about 15 minutes more. Let cool before releasing tart from pan.
