Wondering what about the best exercise workouts by personality type? It’s not easy to find a workout that you’ll stick to for the long run. I cannot tell you how many different types of exercise routines I’ve tried only to give up a week or two after I started. It’s a challenge that I really struggle with and it’s not helping my overall fitness. I knew that if I was going to have to exercise regularly I would need to find something that I would enjoy. Did you know that there is a way to find out what type of workout you’ll likely enjoy by personality type?

Best Exercise Workouts
Knowing the best exercise workouts for your personality type can help you find a routine that you’ll stick to. Fitness should be fun, not a chore, and finding something you’ll enjoy is half the battle. But, what types of things should you consider when choosing a workout routine?
What exercise workouts have you enjoyed?
In the past, what types of exercise have you enjoyed? What types have you really disliked? If you’ve tried kickboxing in the past and hated it, it’s not likely to become one of your favorites today. If the thought of dancing away the pounds brings a smile to your face, explore a few options related to dance. For me, I’m a loner when it comes to exercising. I’d rather exercise at home than at the gym. Fewer people will see me mess up that way.
What are your goals for working out?
Are you working out to relieve stress or to lose weight? Is your goal to become more flexible or to drop two pant sizes? Your workout goals will determine what type of exercise workout you should try. The best workouts to build muscle will be different from stomach weight loss exercises. My goals are to continue to fit into my skinny jeans. Whatever exercise helps me achieve that is good.
What is your experience level?
Have you ever worked out in the past? Do you have an active lifestyle or a sedentary one? You may want to consider how fit you are when choosing your workout routine. If you’re new to exercise, you might want to start slow by walking. If you’re an old pro, jumping into a cardio routine might be the best for you. My job is fairly sedentary so when I work out, I tend to go with yoga or walking which are easier for me to keep up with.
What are your health concerns?
As much as I’d like to think that my 51-year-old body is capable of doing everything it could at 30, it’s not. I have a heel spur and nerve damage in my shoulder. Those are things that I have to keep in mind as I choose a workout. Be sure that you check with your medical provider before beginning any new type of exercise routine to be sure there are no health concerns you aren’t aware of.
How much time do you have?
Finding time to workout has always been a challenge for me. It’s much easier for me to find 30 minutes a day than it is to find 3 hours on the weekend. If you’d rather do two hours once or twice a week than 15-30 minutes a day, you’ll need to keep that in mind as well. Here are some tips for fitting exercise into your day.
What’s your personality type?
Are you a loner or a social butterfly? Does the thought of joining a dance class with others or exercising in public terrify you? Or get you excited? If you prefer to exercise alone rather than be part of a group, that’s important to remember when choosing the best overall exercise.

This is an interesting post. We like to walk but it’s kind of hard because we live on a busy road.
Thanks, Julie. That can definitely be a challenge.
