Energy Boosting Detox Tea

While I often turn to coffee for a bit more energy when I’m feeling run down, a gentle detox can help eliminate toxins from your body and give your system a boost naturally.  It’s important when you are doing an energy boosting detox of any sort that you stop bringing new toxins into your body and that you drink as much water is possible.  

The water will help flush the toxins from your body and eating more naturally will mean you aren’t adding extra toxins back into your body during this time.

Why Detox?

An energy boosting detox helps remove excess waste from your system that it’s been storing. Cleansing the colon, kidneys and liver is very important in any detox program because it removes toxins.

Replace the unhealthy, processed foods in your diet with more healthy choices and use that extra burst of energy to add some exercise to your daily routine. Go for a walk each morning or stop at the gym on the way home from work.

Even on days when I don’t feel like I have enough time for a real workout, I can manage to fit in 15 to 20 minutes of yoga and stretching.

How do you detox your body?

Detoxing is a whole body process and adding in a few detox yoga poses can be very beneficial as well. Yoga works to stretch and compress all of the parts of your body and is very well suited to encouraging elimination of waste and toxins from your body.  

Yoga also encourages you to have proper posture which can encourage better breathing. While there are a number of detox yoga poses, my two favorites yoga poses are the downward dog and the legs up the wall pose.

Why are these my favorite yoga poses? Because even as a fairly unflexible and uncoordinated 48 year old woman, I can do them fairly easily.

This energy boosting detox tea drink is a delicious way to start your morning. I used the FitTea 28 Day Detox Tea in my energy boosting detox tea recipe.

I drink it each morning but it can also be enjoyed before your workout.  FitTea 28 Day Detox Tea contains organic green tea, oolong wu yi tea, organic rooibos tea, ginger, pomegranate, guarana, birch, stevia, corn and honey powder.

Energy Boosting Detox Tea

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 sachet of FitTea 28 Day Detox Tea
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 1/3 tsp dried turmeric
  • 1 slice of lemon
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk

Instructions

  1. Add the turmeric and lemon slice to a coffee cup.
  2. Put the FitTea 28 Day Detox Tea to a tea sachet into the coffee cup.
  3. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over the tea and let steep for 7 minutes.
  4. Remove the lemon slice and the FitTea 28 Day Detox Tea sachet.
  5. Stir in 1/4 cup of coconut milk.
  6. Blender in the blender until well mixed.

  4. I detoxed once, but not in a pleasant way. While it did make me feel great, the process was undesirable. I really would love to try this … is it available in Canada? *fingers crossed*
