Everyone deserves a decadent dessert occasionally. If you’re wondering exactly what toffee is, it’s made by caramelizing butter and sugar. The result is a sweet candy that has a smooth, buttery taste. Toffee has the same ingredients as butterscotch. It is just cooked longer.

You can certainly go ahead and make all of these ingredients from scratch if you want to. But, the joy of this delicious treat is that it’s quick to prepare. It uses ice cream toffee sauce, and whipped cream.
If you’d like to make them from scratch that’s perfectly alright as well. Just plan ahead so you can have this ready when you’re craving it. This recipe makes enough for one. If you want to treat a friend as well, double the ingredients.
If you want to dress this up for a party, you can add your favorite cookie or pastry to dunk into the whipped cream and ice cream. You’ll want to use a tall coffee glass and be sure to have a sundae spoon to get any of the leftover ice cream and toffee sauce at the bottom.
If you cannot find chocolate toffee candy locally, you can buy these Heath Minis and chop them up to sprinkle over the top of your butter toffee coffee.
