I am participating in a sponsored campaign on behalf of P&G and The Motherhood.

What would you do if you woke up one morning and turned on the faucet and out came brown water? If you went to the grocery store for bottled water and there was none? If the stream in your neighborhood had garbage floating in it? If you had no clean water to make dinner for the kids, wash your hands or brush your teeth? That’s the reality for one billion people without clean drinking water.

One Billion People Without Clean Drinking Water

Many of us don’t think about where our clean water comes from, but that is life for nearly 1 billion people on this planet. The power of clean water can change the lives of children and their families. Clean water means they won’t get sick from drinking dirty water so their health will improve. It means children won’t miss school because they are sick.  Clean water means they can go to school regularly and get a better education. Parents who used to get ill or who had to stay home caring for their sick children can now earn a regular income and provide a stable home life for their families.

P&G has created the Purifier of Water packet. This packet is a powder technology invented by P&G laundry scientists that changes dirty water into clean drinking water. More than a decade ago, they created the non-profit P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program, which sends out these packets through emergency relief efforts, NGO partners and governments in more than 75 different countries. Over the past ten years, P&G has invested tens of millions of dollars to provide clean drinking water to people around the world.

I was sent all of the supplies I need to experience the #PowerOfClean myself. I was amazed at the change adding a simple packet made to this dirty water.

As someone with a well on her property, I cannot imagine being without water. It’s something that we worry about during power outages because the pump doesn’t work without power. No electricity means no water. Thankfully, for us it’s only for a short amount of time. Plus, I can go to the store and buy bottled water if I have to. I cannot imagine never having access to clean water to take care of my family.

  3. I learned that each packet treats two and a half gallons of water. It's amazing the difference in the water before and after the packet.

  6. More than a decade ago, P&G scientists developed a powdered cleaning technology that transforms dirty water into clean drinking water. And this has helped many families to survive in harsh conditions. This is the most generous act

  7. What a great program to help clean the water. I grew up with well water and have donated in the past to help build wells to get more water to remote villages in other countries. I learned from the P&G video that just by sharing their video, they will donate a day's worth of water (equivalent to 2 cents). Yep, I didn't know it was that inexpensive but I conserve water as we have a water shortage here in California.
