The heater is running all the time now since winter is here in Vermont. I love how pretty the snow looks outside but the heater is drying the air and that is drying out my skin. My hands need some serious pampering and moisturizing. I’ve used coconut oil in this Madagascar Vanilla Coconut Body Scrub for extra hydration and my hands are just loving it.

Madagascar Vanilla Coconut Body Scrub
Coconut oil leaves my hands feeling so soft and smooth. An added benefit is that coconut oil can also help improve the lipid content of your skin. I chose Madagascar vanilla as the scent in this coconut body scrub because it is the most sought after variety of vanilla available. The scent is much more aromatic than other types of vanilla beans which means I can enjoy this Madagascar Vanilla Coconut Body Scrub even more.
Madagascar vanilla beans are processed using a curing method that results in beans with a higher moisture content. As vanilla beans dry out, the essential oils have dried out and this results in less scent and flavor, and (in my opinion) an inferior bean. Always choose Madagascar vanilla and vanilla beans.
- 1 cup of sugar (I used sucunat because it’s coarser.)
- 1/3 cup epsom salts
- 1/2 cup extra virgin coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon Madagascar vanilla
- Mix the sugar and the epsom salts in a bowl.
- Add the Madagascar vanilla.
- Add the coconut oil and combine till mixed.
- Store in a Mason jar with a lid between uses.
To use, place about a nickel sized amount of the Madagascar Vanilla Coconut Body Scrub into one hand and rub thoroughly over both hands. Rinse off with warm water.
Now while you’re relaxing with this delicious Madagascar Vanilla Coconut Body Scrub, make sure you keep the kids entertained. On December 19 the first five episodes of All Hail King Julien, a totally original, totally hilarious and totally insane new series, will arrive on Netflix.
A favorite character from the Madagascar franchise, King Julien will take on the jungle’s craziest adventures in the new comedy series, along with his loyal sidekicks Maurice and Mort plus a whole new cast of colorful animals. Tune in and celebrate the New Year #AllHailKingJulian
