You may have noticed that I enjoy sharing craft content here on my blog. Crafting is a wonderful way to relax and unwind after a long day. And, it’s a hobby that I really enjoy.

I don’t have an art room or studio that I can get crafty in. So organizing my art supplies is always something I’ve struggled with.

How to Organize Art Supplies

We have a small house, so most of my art supplies are just jumbled together in a drawer. This makes it really difficult for me to find things when I want to get crafty.

I’ve tried using miscellaneous boxes I’ve had from shipping but they just don’t fit together well. So, for the most part, I have just been throwing everything randomly in the drawer.

I seriously needed some sort of art supplies organizer to organize my craft, sewing, and art supplies.

How to organize art supplies in small spaces

  • The very first step when it comes to organizing anything is to declutter. Take everything out of the drawer.
  • You will need to get rid of the things you have no use for or that aren’t good any longer.  Toss the dried-up markers and glue sticks.
  • Clean out the inside of the drawer. Use a damp sponge to wipe it out and get rid of any residue.

  • Put the organizer in the empty drawer and move the bins around to fit properly.
  • Organize like things with like. So, whether you’re organizing sewing supplies or organizing kids’ craft supplies, put all of the similar items together.
  • Then, sort through your arts and craft supplies and place things in the best bin depending on how many items you have.

I am in love with the HEXA™ In-Drawer Organizers From Spectrum. They come in a variety of different sizes so that they hold everything from my glue sticks and paintbrushes to my scissors and note cards.
