On my recent trip to Arkansas, the ladies at Collective Bias gave me a swag bag with some neat things in it. One of the things I got was a pair of pink flip flops. While I absolutely LOVE shoes, I will admit to not being a flip flop kind of girl. Not wanting to let this gift go to waste, I decided that I would learn how to dress up flip flops and turn them into something with a little bit of glam. How To Dress Up Flip Flops
Plain flip flops are a little bit boring but with the help of my trusty glue gun and some artificial flowers from the fabric store, I gave these a fashion remake. These really are very simple to make. You don’t need to be super crafty.
Materials
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Artificial flowers
Note: Just a note about the artificial flowers. When you choose them, make sure that they are fairly flat. If they stand up too much, it will look odd when you glue them onto the flip flops. You also want to make sure that the flower isn’t made up of multiple pieces. If it is, you will need to glue each of the pieces together when you snip it off the stem and then glue that onto the flip flop. Doable. It is just more work.
I found these flowers on Amazon that will work very well for this craft.

Mini Hot Melt Glue Gun with 25pcs Glue Sticks
Directions
- Snip the flowers off the stem. See the note above.
- Before you glue them onto the flip flop band, line them up so you can get an idea of where to glue them and how many you will need.
- Heat the glue gun and very carefully glue the flowers onto the band starting at one end and ending at the other.
- Remember to let the hot glue on the flip flops dry completely before you wear them.
