So don’t go overboard with this.
Yogurt

Opt for plain (unflavored) Greek yogurt for optimal nutrition and steer clear of artificial colors or sweeteners when choosing your yogurt.
Brazil Nuts
Selenium is another thing that our bodies need for healthy thyroid function. And, Brazil Nuts are high in selenium. Look for unsalted Brazil Nuts if you are trying to watch your salt intake. Limit this healthy snack to a small handful daily.
Chicken and Beef
Your body also needs zinc for proper thyroid function. Most people already get enough zinc in their diet. But, if you need to have more, a 3-ounce beef patty contains 3 milligrams and a 3-ounce serving of dark chicken meat contains 2.4 milligrams.
Fish
Fish is an important part of almost any healthy diet. For those trying to support their thyroid, fish is a wonderful source of iodine. One 3-ounce serving of baked cod contains 66% of your daily recommended intake of iodine. Canned tuna provides 11% of your daily iodine needs.
Berries
Who doesn’t love fresh berries? I know I do and they are a great source of antioxidants which are also important for proper thyroid function. Having a handful of fresh berries in your Greek yogurt for breakfast is an easy way to give your body what it needs.

So interesting. Hypothyroidism runs in my family (thankfully I do not have it) & this list is fantastic. I actually knew some of it, just from working in healthcare and having family members with the disease, but seaweed? That’s new to me, yet I love sushi with the seaweed wrap, so that’s a-okay by me.
