Coffee Drinks With Milk

I’m not one of those people who splurges on myself a lot.  I like the simple things in life.  I love nature, a good book, and spending time with friends.

But, I do have one splurge in my life and that’s good coffee.  I am completely addicted to my Keurig and don’t make my coffee at home any other way.

My husband sets the Keurig up for me so it is ready and waiting for me when I wake up.  One press of the button and I have coffee.  Trust me, this is a necessity at 5:30 AM.

You really do not want to talk to me before I have had several cups of coffee. So, by the time my son wanders downstairs at 6:30 AM for school, I am semi-coherent and have enough patience to at least get him out the door to school.

Once or twice a week, I treat myself to a cafe-style coffee when I’m out running errands.  My personal favorite cafe-style coffee is a mocha latte.  It’s the perfect blend of cocoa and coffee with a yummy layer of froth on top.

The last time I treated myself to a cafe-style coffee at a coffee shop it wasn’t all that great and the price had gone up.  So, if I’m going to splurge on something, it had better be worth it.

As much as I adore my Keurig, there is one thing that it has never been able to do and that’s make a milk-based coffee drink.  I’d need an espresso machine or a milk frother for that.

Well, not any longer.  Gevalia Coffee has released revolutionary two-step single-serve café-style coffee beverages – made from real milk – to empower coffee lovers to enjoy a Cappuccino, Caramel Macchiato or Mocha Latte from their Keurig K-Cup Brewers at home.

With National Coffee Day on Sunday, Sept. 29, their timing couldn’t be more perfect! You can get the Gevalia Froth Packets with their coffee here.

So, the Gevalia froth packet is what causes the foamy milky part at the top of your coffee. It’s very simple to froth your own milk without using a packet.

If you’re wondering what actually in these little froth packets, no one seems to know. There is a bit of mocha and some sort of milk solids.  Here’s the full ingredients list:

Nonfat Dry Milk, Sugar, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Maltodextrin, contains less than 2% of Natural and Artificial Flavor, Modified Cornstarch, Silicon Dioxide, Sodium Phosphate.

frothing milk

The nonfat dry milk, sugar, coconut oil, and cornstarch should not cause any foaming at all. Sodium phosphate is an additive that contains salt.

Maltodextrin is a type of sweetener. Silicon dioxide is another food additive. Finally, I cannot see how any of these things would cause the foaming effect of a Gevalia froth packet.

So, if you’re looking for a Gevalia froth packet recipe, what I would recommend that you do is add mocha powder and sugar to your coffee and then add frothed milk on top. It’s quite easy to do with a milk frother

An Easier Way

Keurig owners who enjoy authentic coffee drinks with milk can conveniently prepare them in their own homes with an existing Keurig K-Cup Brewer; no special espresso machine or coffee shop needed.

In two easy steps, coffee drinkers become their own baristas by simply pouring the froth packet, made from real milk, into a mug.

Then, brew the rich, never bitter Gevalia Espresso Roast single-serve cup in a Keurig K-Cup brewer, stir and enjoy! Gevalia café-style beverages come in three delicious varieties, all made from real milk:

  • Mocha Latte — A creamy, perfectly balanced blend of cocoa and coffee topped with a velvety layer of foam
  • Caramel Macchiato — Creamy and smooth, with the indulgent flavor of caramel, topped with a velvety layer of foam
  • Cappuccino — Smooth, mildly sweet with subtle roasted coffee notes, topped with a velvety layer of foam

The process is very simple.  Just pour the froth packet into your mug.  Then brew as you do normally with your Keurig K-Cup Brewer.

Each of the froth packets goes with its corresponding Gevalia K-Cup so you can match the flavors.   I am definitely enjoying these new coffees from Gevalia. So, now I can splurge on myself without ever leaving the house.

  1. Sorry to be critical but the first thing I learned is their website is difficult to navigate due to those cutesy side navigation buttons and the lack of a bottom header to easily find company information.
