You are going to love these seafood tacos! I know. If you’re like me, when you think of Mexican food, you don’t think of fish. Parents want to serve fun, easy to make, nutritious meals, but our kids want pizza and macaroni and cheese. The solution? Create nutritious versions of kid-friendly favorites. It’s the best of both worlds!

Seafood Tacos
This seafood taco recipe is the perfect choice for picky eaters because you can customize it any way you like. You can add clam strips, lettuce, and cheese to appeal to the younger crowd. Or, adults can load up with catfish, guacamole, salsa, and chunks of vegetables. Keep it mild for the kids or extra spicy for the adults. Serve it with crunchy taco shells or with soft tortilla wraps.
Dietary recommendations suggest that all Americans, including children, eat seafood twice a week! Fish and shrimp deliver unique nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids help support brain and heart health. That’s another great reason to make these seafood tacos soon.
Celebrate National Taco Day on October 4 by enjoying a Fish Taco Mexican Fiesta night. Some of my favorite toppings include chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. I put all the toppings in little bowls and let the kids build their own tacos.
Whether you like fish tacos, shrimp tacos, or mixed seafood tacos, this recipe will soon become a family favorite. I find that using a taco stand is the easiest way to keep Taco night from creating a huge mess on the table. These dinosaur taco holders are a super cute idea for kids.
What goes well with shrimp tacos?
If you’re wondering what to serve with shrimp or seafood tacos, why not try a fresh garden salad? To give it a Mexican flair, add chopped cubed avocados and tortilla strips to the top. Your family will love it. It’s one of my favorites. Or, you could try homemade coleslaw or pineapple and cucumber slices.
What do you put on fish tacos?
Baja sauce! What is Baja sauce made of? Baja sauce is sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, and sriracha sauce. You can get the recipe to make your own right here. Or, you can find it at your local grocery store.
If you’re wondering about fish taco toppings, one of my favorites is a chunky mango salsa. I buy ours but you can certainly try making some homemade as well.
Crispy fish tacos or seafood tacos
If you prefer your seafood tacos to be crunchy rather than in a soft flour tortilla, you can serve them in crunchy corn tacos just as easily. I like soft tacos and my husband likes crispy so we generally make a few of each or we alternate depending on who much time we have. This recipe does work well with both types of fish or seafood taco shells.

These look delicious! We don’t often make fish tacos. The kids love eating fish and they love tacos, so why not?
Hope you have a chance to try them!
