Have you ever noticed that now that you’re over 40, it’s a challenge some days to stay clean and fresh? I’m not sure if it’s the fluctuating hormones, the hot flashes, stress or what but there are days I feel less fresh than I want to. As if there aren’t enough things that I have to deal with already. Stay Clean and Fresh After 40
If you’re dealing with peri-menopause like I am, you’re already trying to handle hot flashes, mood swings, changes in your weight, and a variety of other annoying changes. As you get closer to menopause, you’ll probably experience a few more changes. Some of the changes are relatively easy to deal with like the gray hairs I highlight away every six weeks or so. But those hot flashes are less than fun. Thankfully, there are a few things that you can do to stay clean and fresh even when you’re dealing with hot flashes.
Some fabrics breathe better than others so if you’re overheating, skip the synthetic materials and opt for cotton or linen instead. These fabrics breathe better, so you’ll stay dryer and fresher even when you overheat.
It may seem obvious, but one of the best ways to stay clean and fresh is to shower daily. If you’re hitting the gym during your lunch break at work, you may need to add in an extra shower just to be safe.
If you’re only using an antiperspirant, you may need to use a deodorant as well. Antiperspirant takes care of wetness but doesn’t deal with odor. Look for a product that combines both to stay clean and fresh all day.
Remember Your Feet
You may not think so, but your feet can contribute to your feeling of freshness. Switch to cotton socks instead of those with synthetic fibers so that your feet can breathe. For persistent odors, try adding baby powder to your shoes to dry them out and combat bacteria that can lead to odor.
Combat feminine odors with Lubrigyn Cleansing Lotion with Hyaluronic Acid & elastin (an effective synergy against vaginal dryness). It dissolves impurities by cleansing gently with natural oils. Unlike soap, it’s gentle and non-drying so you can stay clean and fresh every day.
pH-balanced and made with botanical ingredients, this rich, silky formula soothes, protects and moisturizes the delicate skin of the vaginal area. Because it draws impurities out by cleansing gently with natural oils without irritating lather or harmful ingredients, it has non-lathering with deodorizing properties. I love that this has Sweet Almond Oil and Jojoba Oil as well. Plus, it has chamomile to soothe sensitive skin.
Here are a few quotes from medical professionals about Lubrigyn
I recommend Lubrigyn Cleansing Lotion to my patients since not only does this incredible formula cleanse, but it moisturizes and lubricates the vulva for comfort throughout the day. There’s a reason it’s hugely popular in Europe!” – Dr. Alyssa Dweck
I always recommend Lubrigyn Cleansing Lotion to my patients who need to bring back moisture to their vulvar tissue. Other soaps and body washes are too harsh for this delicate skin.” – Dr. Michael Krychman
