Saving Money with Store Loyalty Cards

Last Updated on September 18, 2020 by Ellen Christian

Saving money with store loyalty cards is another way that I help keep my family’s budget under control.   While I don’t see a lot of coupons for the items that I buy regularly, I do see store sales offered for those that have a loyalty card. I regularly collect loyalty cards from every store that I shop in.  My preference is for the store loyalty cards that I can keep on my keychain.  I do not enjoy searching through my wallet while I flip through 25 store loyalty cards for the one I need.  It’s much easier for me to grab the one I need from my keychain instead.

I do seem to have one consistent problem with store loyalty cards. Sometimes I go shopping with my husband or teenagers.  They don’t want to come in the store with me when I have a bunch of things to grab.  They often wait in the car for me.  Last time I went shopping. I ran in, grabbed a dozen items, stood in a line of five people and when I got to the register, I realized I left my car keys in the car with my husband. Saving money with store loyalty cards doesn’t work if you forget them in the car.

Loyalty cards are a fact of life for many shoppers. There are 112 million households in the US and the average household is signed up for 14-18 customer loyalty programs. LOC is a new program that consolidates all of your loyalty cards onto one card. No more stacks of loyalty cards to flip through. No more forgetting your keychain that has all your cards when you shop. The LOC Card will let you have a single loyalty card to enroll into other participating merchant loyalty programs with a single swipe of the LOC Card. How is that for a time saver? Watch this short video for more information.

The LOC Card will automatically enroll you in participating rewards programs the first time you swipe it at a participating merchant. No sign up or forms required.  No sharing any personal or private information with the store.  If you already belong to the store’s loyalty program, you can link your existing reward to the LOC Card and then get rid of your old card.  The LOC Card comes with a standard wallet-sized card, key fob, and free smart phone app.  Cards will be available from participating merchants (coming soon!).  LOC Cards are FREE and there is no cost to enroll at all. They are in negotiations with a number of small and large retailers and will be announcing their partners soon.

  1. I have so many loyalty card in my wallet that I can never find the ones I need.  I would love to only have to carry one card!  Definately looking into this!
