Recipe: Marinted pepper steak with Tavern Direct Old Vine Cabernet Marinade

Marinating meat is one way to make a less expensive cut of meat tender. We regularly use meat like stew meat and marinate it to make it tender. I recently learned about a new marinade from Tavern Direct called the Old Vine Cabernet Marinade. The ingredients are cabernet vinegar, garlic, grape seed oil, worcestershire, and spices.

Tavern Direct is a philanthropic organization that was created to to support the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s® (NCMEC) efforts to provide education about how to keep every child safer.  For every product you purchase on, they’ll make a donation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.  Tavern Direct offers a variety of gourmet marinades & sauces, balsamic vinegars, flavored oils, dipping oils and bbq & grilling sauces that are used in their New York restaurant, Tavern on the Green.

We used the Old Vine Cabernet Marinade in our Marinated Pepper Steak. I love that Old Vine Marinade is Gluten Free!

Marinated Pepper Steak

1 cup of Tavern Direct Old Vine Cabernet Marinade
1 pound of grass fed beef stew meat, cut into small pieces
1 pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
salt & pepper to taste
Cooked rice to serve over

Marinate the stew meat in the Tavern Direct Old Vine Cabernet Marinade at least three hours. Saute the stew meat over medium heat until cooked through.  Add the peppers and onions and cook on low heat until soft or to the texture you prefer.  Add salt and pepper to taste and serve over cooked rice.

This is one of our favorite quick meals because you can prepare the meat ahead of time. You can also chop the peppers and onions ahead of time and keep the in a container in the refrigerator until you need them. When it’s dinner time, you just saute everything and cook the rice and it’s done.
