Finding positive ways to manage stress can help improve both your mental and physical health. Not all stressors are bad. But, they do all have an impact on your body and your health if not managed properly. Whether your stress comes from a hard day at work, a relationship conflict, or a happy event like a wedding, here are a few ways you can manage it effectively.

Positive Ways to Manage Stress
When you get stressed, your body responds by releasing hormones and increasing your heart rate and your breathing rate. Your brain receives more oxygen to make a better decision.
While there is nothing wrong with occasional moments of stress, being stressed all the time can lead to a number of health problems including anxiety, depression, insomnia, asthma and digestive issues.
I tend to be frequently stressed so finding positive ways to manage stress is something that I work on regularly.
Listen to Music
Listening to music can help you relax or put a happy step in your day. When I’m stressed, I tend to choose instrumental music to relax.
But, if I’m exercising to get rid of stress, I put on something loud with a great beat. I use my Amazon Echo to play music from my music library. But, you could listen to your favorite radio station or songs on your smartphone.
Get Moving
Depending on why I’m stressed, sometimes the greatest way to manage it is to go for a walk. Just getting outside and looking at the quiet road ahead of me is enough to change the way I’m feeling.
Sometimes I go for a walk in the woods and listen to the birds sing to refocus my thoughts to something more peaceful. If the weather isn’t cooperating, you could go to the gym or do your favorite workout in the living room.
Be Creative
Get your mind off whatever is bothering you and be creative if you enjoy it. My daughter loves to crochet while I tend to go for doodling or card making instead. Whatever it is that makes you feel happiest, spend an hour or so devoted to your favorite craft.
If you don’t find crafting relaxing, substitute another favorite activity. How about reading or watching a romantic comedy on television.
Have a Cup
Having a cup of herbal tea is one of my favorite ways to unwind. I turn on my salt lamp, choose my favorite blend from Dunkin’ Donuts, and spend some time enjoying a few minutes of quiet.
Depending on your schedule, you can brew your tea at home or stop at Dunkin’ Donuts for a cup of tea while running your errands for the day.
Dunkin’ Donuts has relaunched its hot tea offerings with a brand new lineup of premium hot teas, available in five vibrant flavors. Served in pyramid tea sachets, they contain high-quality full leaf teas and herbal infusions for the optimal steep.
The new premium hot tea lineup offers both caffeinated and caffeine-free options, including:

I picked up a box of the Chamomile Fields™ Herbal Infusion tea from Dunkin’ Donuts to enjoy at home this weekend. Buy each new flavor in boxes containing 15 individually wrapped pyramid tea sachets, at the suggested retail price of $6.99 at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants. Dunkin’ Donuts’ full menu, including breakfast items, are available all day.

I love Chamomile Tea for reducing stress. I’d try the Dunkin Donuts tea but we don’t have one nearby.
Hope you have a chance to try it some day!
This article had some awesome suggestions!!
I have a couple of them in the past. The chamomile tea, I listen to music on the Reflection Channel. It plays Christian music and shows pictures of God’s beautiful earth. I also pray! It gives me peace!
It took me to hear that I was diagnosed with cancer before I realized that eventually the pieces fall into place and that life keeps on giving anyway – with or without you! So please stop and smell the roses while you still can!
I’ll have to see if I can find that channel!
Thanks for these. I needed that! I want one of those salt lamp so bad! Great post. Love Dunkin’s tea.
Thanks, Lisa!
I ad Calm -Magnesium to my water pitcher. It flavors the water slightly with Lemon and Raspberry and not only keeps one calm, it encourages you to drink more water because it tastes so good. Makes great tea!
I’ll have to look for that!
I have not seen these tea options from Dunkin Donuts before – very cool. I want to try Hibiscus Kiss™.
I hope to try that soon!
I’m always trying to do things to relieve stress, thee are some good tips. I can relax just by entering these giveaways.
That definitely works too!
Wow! I love tea and never knew Dunkin Donuts had tea bags. Guess Ive been too busy eating donuts. LOL
LOL now is the time to try it!
Walking helps but it definitely needs planning. I love to spontaneously dance in the living room and instantly I feel better. I don’t even need music. It wakes me up better than caffeine too!
Dancing sounds like fun!
I didn’t realize that Dunkin Donuts sold tea bags. These look amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Glad to share, Angela!
I am still trying to figure out how to use the Amazon Dot my husband brought home to listen to soothing music while I do housework! Maybe I will get the hang of it soon.
I have it connected to my Amazon Prime account so I just say …. “Alexa play classical music.” and it plays something.
