The Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena

Staying at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena during my trip to the Oz The Great And Powerful Red Carpet Premier was like a little trip to paradise in the middle of my Vermont winter.  After a very long (almost 12 hour) trip from Vermont to California, I arrived at The Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, California and was greeted by this amazing site.

Wow was about all I could think.  The Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena has been a Pasadena landmark for more than 100 years.  It is located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, just minutes from downtown Los Angeles.  It sites on twenty three acres and offers grand historic ballrooms and gardens as well as world-class dining and an award winning spa.

I headed upstairs to check in and was truly amazed at what was waiting.  Chocolate is definitely the way to my heart especially after the plane ride! They even provided slippers and a robe for me to get comfy in!  The room was absolutely beautiful and when I finally got a chance to sleep, the bed and pillows were so soft that I drifted right off.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and one of the first things that I did when I had a few minutes was wander around and enjoy the grounds.  The flowers were so refreshing coming from winter time in Vermont. I made sure to take a few minutes to relax on those benches and just enjoy the sun.

There were so many amenities offered at the hotel that I wish I could have spent a bit more time relaxing there.  Guests can enjoy bicycle rentals, outdoor pool and whirlpool with sundeck, and a fitness center and spa.

One of the amenities I was able to enjoy was the 24 hour in room dining provided by room service.  I know I had some very late nights and super early mornings while I was there and I was very thankful that room service could provide a meal when I wanted it.   I highly recommend the scones & latte. What a great way to start my morning. If you are going to be in the area, I definitely recommend The Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena.

  1. As I remember, the original hotel was completely demolished, some of its more elegant public rooms dismantled and saved, and then a new hotel was built along the general lines of the original, with the saved public rooms put back inside. I haven’t been there since, but had visited shortly before the original hotel closed.

  2. Well my goodness–I can’t be more than half an hour from this loveliness and I’ve never visited. I seem to go to events and conventions in Pasadena and head back home to L.A. right away, so must explore when I get a chance. Thanks for featuring it.

  3. I used to live here!!! We actually rented a villa on the grounds for a year. It is such a wonderful place with amazing customer service. I remember walking over to the hotel during an Indian wedding ceremony and they actually had an ELEPHANT! The groom was riding in on an elephant! So cool. Yeah, love this place and as a former Pasadena resident, it is absolutely the best hotel in Pasadena. The staff will do ANYTHING for you.
