For some reason, I seem to have a bunch of little kid-themed wrapping paper. I have no little kids on my Christmas shopping list so I’m not sure why I have Christmas Winnie the Pooh wrapping paper in my supply basket.

Since I am not really sure my father would appreciate having his Christmas gifts wrapped with Winnie the Pooh paper, I have decided to try my hand at making homemade wrapping paper this year.

I have a roll of brown Kraft paper that I really should use for something. I wanted to dress it up a bit for the holidays rather than use it plain so I decided to try sponge stamping a Christmas design on the front of it.

Of course, I got in the Christmas mood by watching a Christmas movie on my Dell Inspiron 13 7000 Series with #Intel2in1.

I’ve never really gotten into watching movies on my computer before because it meant sitting at my desk but the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series has 4 different viewing modes which makes it so much more enjoyable to watch movies on.

You can use it in laptop, tablet, display or tent mode. That means I can curl up on the couch with it, watch it at my desk, or prop it up on the kitchen table while I craft.

Because it has Windows 8.1, it comes with a touch screen and lots of fun apps. Of course, you know I’m using Netflix on it to watch my Christmas movie.

Stamping on wrapping paper is really very easy. Just take a new, dry sponge and cut it into whatever shape you want. You can make a square for Christmas presents, a circle for Christmas ornaments or a tree shape for a Christmas tree.  Put some acrylic paint on a paper plate or plastic lid and dab the sponge into the paint.  Dab off a bit of the paint before you start stamping or it will be too thick. Then just randomly stamp your Kraft paper with the sponge stamp in whatever kind of pattern you like. Let it dry thoroughly before you use it.

Then just use it like you would any other wrapping paper. You can use tape to hold it closed or you can tie with some pretty twine instead to give it a Christmas feel.  Ad a bow and a gift tag and you’re all set with an inexpensive, fun way to wrap presents. This is a super easy Christmas craft and even the kids can do it!

I love how much fun I’m having using my Dell Inspiron 13 7000 Series with Intel 2 in 1 for my holiday preparation. There are so many fun apps to use on it and it’s much more flexible than any other computer or laptop I’ve used before.

  1. That is a great idea to make your own wrapping paper!  Thanks for sharing it.  That would be lots of fun to watch a Christmas movie while making the paper.  I'm glad Intel allows you to do that.
