So, if you’re asking yourself why you need healthy homemade popcorn seasoning recipes at all, keep reading. I love popcorn. And, in the past, I would load up on salt and butter. Neither of these things is good for me in excess. So, I started using red palm oil for that buttery flavor which is an amazing alternative. But, I miss the actual seasoning on the popcorn.

Last time I went shopping, I took a look at the popcorn seasonings in the grocery store. Yikes! The ingredients are awful and definitely not what I want to add to my popcorn. So, that leaves me with plain popcorn which I am not a huge fan of.

These healthy homemade popcorn seasoning recipes are a great alternative to the unhealthy seasonings in the grocery store. You can use them as-is. Or, if you want to, you can use butter and then add the seasonings. If you’re looking for healthy, skip the butter. Scroll to the end for the recipe and the printable.

What can I use instead of butter for popcorn?

I know, the taste of butter is hard to give up when it comes to popcorn. But, check out my blog post on red palm oil and you’ll see that it’s a great alternative. It really does give the popcorn a light, buttery taste.

Check out these healthy homemade popcorn seasonings recipes!  You can package them up using the printable at the end of the post. They make a great gift idea for Christmas. You can put them in whatever type of air-tight jar you have on hand. In the past, I have used the small Mason jars. It really doesn’t matter what type of container you use as long as they are air-tight. If you don’t use one that’s air-tight, the ingredients will clump together and get hard.
