Eating healthier meals when you have no time to cook isn’t as impossible as you think. I’d love to tell you that seven days a week I prepare healthy and nutritious meals for my family but it isn’t always true. There are days that I’m not feeling well and days that I forget to defrost something for dinner. Since I follow the Paleo diet, I really need to plan ahead to eat healthier meals.

Eating Healthier Meals
Sometimes lack of planning or lack of time results in a less than stellar dinner or even the dreaded trip out for fast food. That doesn’t have to happen with a little bit of planning ahead and trying out a few of these suggestions for eating healthier meals.
Make a meal plan
Make a meal plan the weekend before considering what you have in the pantry or what you’ll be buying at the grocery store. With meals planned ahead, you’ll know at a glance what you have on the schedule for dinner that evening.
If you know you’ll be working late or that the kids will have a doctor’s appointment after school, plan something simple but healthy that evening. Lack of time doesn’t have to be an issue with eating healthier meals.
Make it easier
Simplify your cooking. Focus on finding a few recipes your family enjoys that use healthy, fresh ingredients. You don’t need to make everything you eat 100% healthy overnight. Radical changes all at once rarely last. A simple steamed vegetable or baked potato takes only a few minutes to make in the MultiPot.
Look for time savers
Choose time savers when you really need to. If purchasing pre-packaged shredded cabbage is all that’s standing in your way from cooking more stir-fry meals, allow yourself that luxury.
Use your MultiPot
It takes very little time to put a roast, potatoes, and vegetables in your MultiPot in the morning. You will have a healthy meal ready for you when you’re done work.
Eat more whole grains
A simple way to do this is by substituting whole grain pasta for regular pasta or brown rice with white rice in your favorite meal. It takes only a few minutes more to make this simple change. And, you can cook brown rice in your MultiPot in only 20 minutes.
Don’t skip a healthy breakfast
I know it’s tempting to grab a donut or skip breakfast entirely when you’re busy. Your body needs a healthy breakfast. It takes only 10 minutes to make a hard-boiled egg in your MultiPot. Combine it with a bowl of oatmeal for a hearty breakfast that will fill you up.,
Eating healthy on a budget
I get it. Healthy food is often more expensive than cheaper alternatives. But, you can purchase a cheaper cut of meat and cook it in your MultiPot to make it so tender it falls off the fork. You can also substitute beans for meat in any soups and stews. With a Mealthy MultiPot, you can cook dried beans fast on high pressure and have dinner ready in less than an hour.
Eating healthy to lose weight
Many people focus on eating healthy to lose weight. If that’s important to you, here are a few things to keep in mind. Skip the sauces and gravies and flavored side dishes. A cup of brown rice is better for you than a cup of prepared flavored rice from a package. A plain baked potato is a better option than mashed potatoes or potatoes au gratin. You can make a baked potato in the Mealthy MultiPot in only 15 minutes.
One of the best eating healthy tips I can offer is to learn to cook from scratch. I know it can be a little bit overwhelming if you’re used to using packaged foods. But, using something like a Mealthy MultiPot or a slow cooker will let you cook foods from scratch with very little hands-on time needed.
And, if you’re forgetful or busy like me, you can remember you need to make dinner an hour before you need to have it done and still serve a healthy meal. The MultiPot comes with a cook booklet that’s full of delicious recipes you can have on the table fast including beef and barley stew in 35 minutes. Or, try the Teriyaki Chicken Wings in only 20 minutes. Serve them with a side salad and you’ll be eating healthier meals in no time at all.
Cook meals in mere minutes and in less than half the time! Pressure cook, slow cook, sauté, steam, make cakes, pasteurize, make yogurt, cook rice, and warm, all in ONE electric appliance. Comes with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty – register your appliance on the Mealthy website.
