Raspberry Vinaigrette Salad Dressing Recipe
There’s an endless bounty of fresh vegetables from our garden, and our neighbors always stop by with extra vegetables from their gardens. What I put in my garden salads depends on what I have a lot of in the garden.
There is always a base of lettuce, arugula, spinach or dandelion greens depending on the time of year. I also add carrots, cucumbers, peppers, onions, and tomatoes when I have them.
I sometimes add bacon, chunks of cheese, nuts, or dried fruits as a splurge. The final addition to my salad is a salad dressing of some type.
While the grocery store has a great selection of salad dressings, sometimes they aren’t the best choice. Store-bought salad dressings often contain fat, sodium, and artificial ingredients.
It’s possible to make your salad dressing without adding anything. This raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing is one of my favorite healthy salad dressing recipes.
Best vinegar for vinaigrette
I chose the Heinz Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar for my salad dressing because I wanted to enjoy the properties of unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Unfiltered apple cider vinegar still contains the “mother” of the vinegar – a compound created naturally during vinegar’s fermentation process.
The mother of vinegar helps to improve your immune system and helps you stay healthy. It will lose many of its health properties when it is cooked so I like to use it in recipes that I am not heating like this salad dressing.
If you have traditional Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar, try my homemade barbecue sauce recipe.
This recipe is one point on the Weight Watcher’s diet. You can use a sugar free sweetener instead of brown sugar if you like.
