Strawberries and chocolate just naturally go together but I’m not sure that combination actually qualifies as a good lunch by itself. As I was wandering through Pinterest, I came across a recipe on How Sweet It Is that inspired me to make my Grilled Sandwich recipe – Strawberry, Brie, Chocolate and Walnut. Since I absolutely HATE dark chocolate, I decided to use milk chocolate in my sandwich. Roasting the strawberries seemed like a lot of work and I had just come inside from discovering that the chickens at all the lettuce in my garden, so I decided sliced fresh strawberries would work just fine for me. Walnuts and chocolate just naturally go together so I had to sprinkle on a few California walnuts onto the top of my sandwich as well.

Grilled Sandwich Recipe
I felt completely decadent eating a sandwich that had chocolate and strawberries in it. The Brie and the chocolate got all soft and melty. The butter made the outside of the sandwich crispy. The Driscoll’s strawberries and California walnuts were the perfect addition to the other flavors in this sandwich. My husband looked at me like I had lost my mind when he saw me making a sandwich with chocolate in it but wow was it good!
Now that you’ve seen my recipe for Brunch Week, take a look at some of the others. Or, why not try my open faced tuna melt.

My 14 year old and my S.O. would melt if I could go to the store and bring the ingredients back to make this for breakfast!! I might just do that! Thanks for the inspiration!
It was an amazing combination! I’ll have to try it again soon!
I made it and loved how it turned out. I bought a loaf of french bread and added prosciutto to appeal to the masses. It was a hit. I might just skip the family dinner and have that again. Oh, but I need breakfast for tomorrow. Darn! I’ll save the balance of the ingredients to make another serving for 4 tomorrow.
I’m so glad you liked it! I think it would be great for breakfast 🙂
I just stumbled upon this again from when I made it by browsing my old Instagram posts. I can’t believe I had forgotten about it. This is definitely one of my fave recipes. It’s about that time to make it again. For some reason, I’ve had a craving for bananas lately. A few thin slices of banana might make a great addition, too!
Oh that sounds so good!
Sounds more like a dessert than lunch!
Wow, I would have never thought of anything like this. Looks scrumptious!
It was really amazing, Lisa. You should give it a try!
I love how this is a little bit of a dessert hiding as a sandwich and just in time for the up coming strawberry season. Thanks so much for sharing it with us on foodie friday.
You’re welcome! I totally vote for dessert for lunch ever day!
This sounds incredibly sinful and so good. The links you shared sound divine as well, I’m off to check them out!
Thanks, Amber. It was definitely delicious!
OMgeeeeeeeeee. This looks amazing! I am a grilled cheese lover myself! I just did two new posts of them for grilled cheese month. I am adding this to my must try list!
Let me now how you like it, Amanda!
Oh wow this sounds good – oh yum!

Incredible, I can only imagine how awesome that is!!

Never would’ve thought of that combination, but can see how it would work. I’m not very adventurous with my grilled sandwiches.
LOL it’s definitely a delicious combination!
Ok, this is to die for combination. I love it! It has all my favorite stuff in it!
And it’s a great way to make eating chocolate a good thing!
What a delicious combination! Strawberries and chocolate are made for each other, but the addition of brie and walnuts rounds it all off nicely.
It’s definitely one I’m going to be making again soon!
That sounds beyond delicious. I’ll bet it would kill with pear too. I’ll have to pick up some brie when I shop tomorrow and give it a try.
Oh I bet pear would be amazing! I can’t wait till we have some on our tree!
You had me hooked with chocolate and brie, yum! I love trying new to me food combinations, some of the best recipes come from… what if!
LOL definitely a dangerous combination!
Everything I love in one sandwich!
LOL It certainly was!
Oh Wow! This is some sandwich! I can just taste the walnuts and chocolate with that hint of tart from the strawberries. It’s probably like taking a bite, thinking it’s enough because there is so much flavor, and then finding yourself taking another bite!
It really was amazing. No way could I stop until it was done!
11 of the links are not working for me. Your sandwich looks delicious.
Thanks! They may not all be up yet this morning but should be in the next half hour or so!
