Yummly Recipes Gluten Free and More

Last Updated on December 15, 2023 by Ellen Christian

I’ve been using Yummly for a while now to help promote my recipes and save recipes that I want to try. If you’re not familiar with Yummly yet, let me introduce you. Yummly is a food site that allows you to search for and save recipes. So, what makes it different than other recipe sites? It allows you to search for recipes and EXCLUDE those with a certain ingredient. This is HUGE for those with food allergies or who would like to avoid certain ingredients.

All you need to do is to sign up for Yummly. It’s totally free and easy to use.  You will see a search box in the center of the screen. Type your search term in the search box. Start broad with something like “chicken” for best results. Yummly will then bring up a list of chicken recipes with images. Over on the left hand side, you will be able to refine your search to exclude certain recipes. Let’s say that you have a gluten allergy, I can exclude pasta or wheat or bread from my search or all of them from my search. Just enter the word you want to exclude and hit enter.

That will show you all the recipes that are on Yummly already without the ingredients that you have excluded. But, you can add other recipes you find as well. If you’re a blogger, you’ll want to make sure that you add your recipes too! To add other recipes to Yummly, you’ll need to have their Bookmarklet which is basically a little button that goes on your toolbar.  Once you have it installed, just click it when you’re on a recipe you want to add.

If you look right below the title on this post, you’ll see a little orange button that says “Yum” on it. That’s a Yummly share button and it’s the way you can save my recipes on your Yummly account to find them easily.  The next time you visit one of my recipes (maybe my Gluten Free Salted Caramel Brownies or my Paleo Chicken Soup recipe), just click the Yum button to save it to your Yummly account.

Now that you’ve signed up, make sure you check out my recipes on Yummly!

  1. This would be a cool way to find recipes for my daughter who has a peanut allergy. She is married and when she comes to visit I need to not cook with peanuts,
