When we dream of growing up, getting married and living on our own, we all want the better things in life. I remember those dreams from when I was younger, and I’m watching the kids struggle with them now as they start their adult lives. We want fulfilling jobs, happy relationships, time for ourselves, etc. The reality of what life throws at us doesn’t always match our dreams. This post is sponsored by FX Networks and Better Things, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

We All Want the Better Things in Life
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed in life. There are so many things you have to juggle including family, work, friends, parents, etc. I feel overwhelmed regularly even with a very supportive husband. It’s hard not to feel like you should be the perfect wife or parent. We compare ourselves to our friends, neighbors and even Pinterest and that results in a lot of stress.
There is a new television program that premiered on September 8th called Better Things. Sam Fox is an actress, who is also a single mother raising three teenage daughters. She’s also helping to care for her mom who lives across the street. The show is all about a realistic (but funny) look into what motherhood is really about – from juggling priorities to how hard it is to find time for yourself. This show could really be a page out of any busy mom’s life.
Make sure that you tune in every Thursday at 10PM EST on FX to watch #BetterThings.

I learned that Louis C.K. was one of the creators and Pamela Adlon is one of the actors. I loved her in Californication!
I learned that Better Things premiered Thursday, Sept. 8th on FX.
I learned that I can watch it on xfinity, which I have. I have also been intrigued by the photo everywhere.
From the website I learned that Better things premiered on FX on September 8th of this year! Looks like quite the interesting show, too bad I don’t have cable. Thank you for this great giveaway!
I learned that the actress who plays the ex-patriot mother was in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and she received excellent reviews for her performance;
And seriously – if it’s a “best of things” prize package – where’s the chocolate? heh
I have been hearing a lot about this show this week but hadn’t heard about it before now. I wish we had cable so I could watch it. It looks hilarious and the thought of having to raise 3 daughters on my own is scary. I love how they say she is mom, dad, referee and “The Cops”. That is so true when you have kids.
The British expat mother sounds cute!! I love those accents! Sadly, there are a lot of single mothers who find it hard to hope with just a job and their kids. Never mind having to cope with their parents or other responsibilities!
I learned that this sounds like a great show! I’ve never heard of it before, but being about a working Mom with kids…sounds great!
