Something New For Dinner
I don’t know about you but after 20+ years of making dinner, I have run out of new and exciting ideas. I can only make spaghetti, tacos, and meatloaf for so many meals before I am just in need of something different.
When it comes to dinner, fast and healthy are my go-to words. I want a meal I can feel good about serving without spending hours in the kitchen. I don’t have hours. And, if I did, I would not want to spend it making dinner.
What should we make for dinner?
So, what should we make for dinner? That’s the question that stumps me every time. Chances are, I have forgotten to take something out to defrost. If that’s the case, I use my Instant Pot. If I have remembered to take something out to defrost and it’s early enough, I opt for something easy in the slow cooker.
If you’re looking for something new to cook, this Slow Cooker Italian Beef Stew couldn’t be easier. Just dump the ingredients in the slow cooker and go. Or, try this Slow Cooker Veggie Taco Chili with Brown Rice for a vegetarian recipe. Chili is a huge family favorite in our home.
Dinner ideas for tonight
OK so dinner will be here any time now and you need dinner ideas for tonight. What should you make? These Apple Pie Pork Chops would be perfect with a tossed salad and a loaf of French Bread. Or, this Slow Cooker Southwest Casserole is perfect those that need a frugal, gluten-free meal idea.
If you want something totally new for dinner tonight, why not try these Whole 30 Lasagna Roll-Ups or these Korean Shredded Beef Tacos. Finish the meal off with a helping of Inside Out Apple Crisp (yes in the slow cooker!).
I’ll let you in on a secret to make slow cooker meals even easier. Combine it with freezer cooking. Make more than one meal at a time and freeze half. Then, on your busiest nights, you can take out the half you froze and toss it in the slow cooker. Check out these tips for using your slow cooker.
Just check out all of the recipes on Once a Month Cooking. You can sign up to receive their menus to make meal planning even easier. I have two crock pots that I use all of the time. As soon as the weather turns colder I like to start making all of my homemade soups. They turn out great and are always very heady meals that really stick with you. I always like making new things in my crock pots too.
It really is an awesome way to make meal tine easier!
