Like most kids, my children love shakes & smoothies but the prices to buy these out at the snack bar are awful not to mention the fact that who knows what they put in them! You can make your own healthy, frugal fresh fruit smoothies at home.

Fresh Fruit Smoothie
Seves 2
1 medium banana, sliced & frozen
6 strawberries, frozen (1 cup)
1/2 cup fresh orange juide
1 cup HOMEMADE YOGURT
1. Combine the banana, strawberries and orange juice in a blender. Add the yogurt and blend until smooth and creamy. Serve right away.
Variation:
Apple-Berry – Use 1/2 cup apple juice or cider instead of orange juice and 1 cup fresh blueberries instead of strawberries.
As you can see from my picture, I used the variation since I had no strawberries. Absolutely delicious!

Homemade yogurt? That would be interesting… I think I like the apple/berry version better though- I'm not a fan of orange juice.
