What is So Shape?
So Shape is a meal delivery service that offers healthy, pre-made meals and shakes. The company was founded in 2014 by two French entrepreneurs, Raphael Wetzel and Steven Tordjeman.
They help you reach your weight loss goals with smarter meals. You simply replace two of your meals with a shake or smart meal. Then, you eat a sensible, rule-free meal for your third meal.
This plan helps you kick start your weight loss to shed a few pounds. The So Shape plan is very simple to follow.
It helped me avoid last-minute take-out or fast food meals because the So Shape meals are shelf-stable and easy to prepare in minutes.

What are smart meals?
The So Shape meal plan includes a wonderful selection of pasta dishes and rice dishes. You can see the nutritional information for each smart meal before you order to pick the meals that fit best into your weight loss plan.
When I picked my meal replacement options, I looked for those with lower carbs since I have been doing carb cycling with Lumen. Check out my post on Carb Cycling 101.
Just a few of the savory dishes that are hot meals included are:
- Macaroni and Cheddar Cheese
- Chili sin Carne
- Veggie Bolognese

So Shape Shakes
You can also get the So Shape sweet shakes to help with sugar cravings. They work wonderfully as morning shakes. They have just enough nutrients to make good meal replacements for me.
All you need to do is mix them with very cold water. The booklet suggests these for breakfast.
A few of the So Shape shake flavor options are:
- Hazelnut
- Sea Salt Caramel
- Coco Choco
- Choco Banana
My favorite is the Hazelnut. It was perfect for waking up with. Get started right here and save $15.
When do I eat the So Shape meals?
How does So Shape work for me? It made the most sense to drink the morning shakes for breakfast because I am always pressed for time in the morning. Then, I ate a sensible lunch at work.
I made a salad with lean meat or cottage cheese and an orange for dessert most of the time. You could certainly do a sandwich if you are open to a higher carb count.
And I chose one of the smart meals to be evening meals when I was home. That way, I could enjoy my evening meal with my husband.
You can certainly switch it up if you want to.
Are there free foods with So Shape?
Yes, there are lots of open foods you can eat! Here are just a few.
- 0% cottage cheese (I often have this for lunch)
- Non-fat cream cheese
- Chicken breast
- Non-fat plain Greek yogurt (I made it in my Instant Pot yogurt maker)
- Bell peppers
- Cucumbers
- Green salad
- Eggplant
- Lemon juice
- Herbs and spices
- Plain coffee, tea, green tea, and herbal tea
Why not try a stir fry along with your smart meal? It will help you not feel hungry during your So Shape 28 day challenge.
Will I lose weight with So Shape?
The challenge is a great way to reset your eating habits and jump-start weight loss. I found that the meals were very filling and satisfying.
It’s important that your third meal of the day is sensible and contains all the nutrients of a balanced meal. So Shape consists of two meals a day that help you with weight management or loss.
But, losing weight is about more than just healthy eating. You should also add fitness to your 28-day challenge. Every time I have lost weight, I have moved more.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for an easy-to-follow meal plan that delivers results.
How were the So Shape evening meals?
I enjoyed the So Shape savory meals for dinner. I couldn’t believe how easy they were to make.
I made mine in the microwave, taking less than 5 minutes per meal. I just added the pasta to a bowl and poured in the water.
Then, I microwaved it according to the directions and stirred in the So Shape package. I added seasonings to mine to boost the flavor, but it was quite good.
You can add chili flakes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Then, I enjoyed a garden salad with it as a side dish. I was definitely full after eating.
What can I eat with my smart meal?
You can have a green salad or roasted vegetables with your So Shape meal.
The portions were large enough that I didn’t need anything else, but some people might want to add a protein like grilled chicken or whitefish.
I love that the meals are vegetarian with no genetically engineered ingredients!
So Shape Shake review
I enjoyed one shake per meal along with nonfat plain Greek yogurt. I admit I added a bit of stevia to the shake. There are no calories, so I doubt this made any difference.
Since soy milk is an open food, I added a bit of soy milk to my shake to make it a bit creamier. I liked the Mint Chocolate Chip flavor the best. It was quite good with the stevia.
It’s not thick like an ice cream shake would be. But, it is comparable to most other meal replacement shakes.
At about 230 calories, the shakes feel lighter than most of my traditional breakfast choices. I’m glad I had the option to add in the free foods as a snack a bit later in the morning.
