My focus for the past few months has been to slow down and focus more on what I’m doing. Sometimes, life seems like to whirls by so fast that I miss it in between smartphone notifications and quick cups of coffee as I run out the door for my next errand. I don’t like the weeks that I look back and wonder where all the time has gone. My goal has been to slow down and go simple whenever possible and this includes giving gifts.

How to Give Simple Gifts
Christmas is right around the corner, and I have a few small gifts that I still need to get. There are people I want to do something nice for that I don’t know well enough to get a personalized gift. You must have people like that on your gift list as well like your hair stylist, the Fedex and UPS guys, and your mailman? As a blogger, I cannot tell you how many times a week I get packages. As it gets closer to the holidays, it’s not uncommon for me to have 4 or 5 deliveries a day, and I’d like to say thank you.
This year, I decided to put together a few simple gifts that I could pass on to people as I needed to. They aren’t personalized so they could work for anyone I have a need for a small gift for. You can create 5 or 6 of them and place them in a bag near the door for easy access. Depending on the person, what you add will vary. Your babysitter may love a bottle of body wash and some Brookside Crunchy Clusters. Your stylist may enjoy a scented candle and a package of Brookside Dark Chocolates with Açai & Blueberry Flavors for the perfect combination to unwind at the end of the day. Coffee and Brookside Dark Chocolates pair perfectly together, so your delivery man may like a coffee mug and a bag of Brookside Dark Chocolate with Pomegranate Flavors.
I discovered the Brookside Dark Chocolates with Açai & Blueberry Flavors candies last year and quickly fell in love with them. The combination of flavors in these candies is out of this world and I love grabbing a handful as a treat at the end of the day. Check out how beautiful it looks when the flavors combine to create this delicious treat:
This year, I’m passing on my love for Brookside Dark Chocolates in a few simple gifts
I kept the presentation simple on purpose without a lot of bows, ribbons, and sparkles. If you prefer, you can add all of the Christmas glam you like or you can keep it simple like I did.
Why not consider making a homemade gift like these poured paint votive candle holders?

The flavors sound great. I just wish they used organic ingredients.
I’ll certainly pass that on to them!
I love making homemade gifts and adding little pieces of chocolate into my gifts. This year I made everyone homemade peppermint vanilla sugar scrub packaging really pretty with gold glitter and red glitter ribbon. Then put some Hershey kisses in the bag too. Everyone loved it!
I bet that was a big hit!
I truly think it’s the thought that goes into the gift that matters the most. The smallest things can mean so much some times and be so much more meaningful.
That’s very true, Kelly!
I’ve not tried Brookside chocolates myself. It took a while to get off sugar so I’m pretty strict about keeping sugar free for now. They do make great gifts for others though. Adding these to a fresh fruit basket would work too.
That’s a great idea!
It’s the thought behind the gift that counts and if you ask me chocolate is always welcome. I love Brookside chocolates – the combinations are so tasty.
I totally agree, Patty!
