I know that most people probably buy cocktail sauce in a jar from the grocery store but with this cocktail sauce recipe you will be able to make your own instead. I like offering finger food and appetizers when we entertain but in the summer I don’t want to heat up the oven to cook them. That rules out a lot of the traditional appetizers that we offer when we have friends over. Thankfully, shrimp with cocktail sauce works even on the hottest day of the year. Cocktail Sauce Recipe
If you look at a bottle of cocktail sauce on the grocery store shelf, chances are you are going to see high fructose corn syrup as an ingredient. You will probably also see soybean oil. Both of these things mean that chances are pretty good that your cocktail sauce will be loaded with GMOs. Start with organic, GMO free ingredients to ensure your cocktail sauce is healthy and delicious.
- 1/2 cup organic ketchup
- 2 tbsp horseradish
- dash of Worcestershire sauce
- dash of hot sauce sauce
- squeeze of fresh lemon, organic
- Combine all ingredients and chill until cold.
- Serve with shrimp.
Cocktail sauce is generally one of those foods that gives me heartburn. What is heartburn? Heartburn happens when acid escapes from your stomach up into your esophagus. Food is the most common heartburn trigger. Your stomach may react to certain foods by increasing acid production or slowing down digestion.
This time when I enjoyed my cocktail sauce recipe, I took PEPCID®COMPLETE®. PEPCID®COMPLETE® is a dual action product that combines an antacid with an acid reducer. PEPCID®COMPLETE® chewable starts working in seconds (just as fast as antacids) and lasts all day or all night. PEPCID® provides fast, long-lasting relief in just one chewable tablet to help you fight the burn and enjoy your next great bite. PEPCID® COMPLETE® has a yummy berry flavor and I really prefer the taste over those awful chalky antacids. One tablet. All day relief. I have received information, product, and materials from McNeil Consumer Pharmaceuticals Co., the makers of PEPCID®. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post for Mom It Forward
