Detox Bath Recipes | Detox Bath with Ginger
Why should you detox? That’s probably the biggest question I had before I started. We put all kinds of junk into our bodies. We don’t always eat healthy, we drink too much coffee, we’re exposed to illnesses, artificial ingredients and pollutants in our every day lives.
Our bodies try very hard to remove things that it doesn’t want or need. We can help our bodies naturally detox by taking a detox bath with ginger and other natural ingredients.
There are many different detox bath recipes but this is the one I use most often. As always, check with your doctor before trying natural remedies.
Ginger detox bath recipe
The more toxins we’re exposed to, the harder our bodies have to work to get rid of them. I find it helpful, at the start of cold and flu season, to take this detox bath with ginger to help my body detox.
This can help boost my health and my immune system which means that it will have a better chance to warding off any illnesses I’m exposed to.
This Detox Bath Tea with Ginger will help your body sweat out toxins. It’s used much the same way those in Europe use saunas.
I don’t have a sauna in my home so I use this detox tea to sweat the toxins out of my body. Again, check with your doctor before trying any new home remedy. I’m not a doctor. Just a busy mom.
Ingredients:
- Epsom salts remove toxins from your body, help improve circulation and help with pain
- Sea salts remove toxins from your body and restore energy levels
- Essential oils like lavender can help you relax and peppermint can restore energy levels
- Ginger to sweat out toxins. I use powder because it keeps the tub cleaner but you can use grated fresh as well.
Measurements:
This makes enough for one detox bath. If you want to make more than that, make sure that the ingredients are well mixed and store it in an air tight Mason jar with a lid.
- 1/2 cup Epsom salts
- 1/4 cup Sea salt
- 3 to 4 drops of the essential oil of your choice
- 1 round teaspoon of ginger or 1/2 cup freshly grated
Add it all to warm water in your tub and soak for 15 minutes. Remember, this detox bath with ginger will make you sweat. Be sure to drink a lot of water during the process to replace any water you loose through sweating. Please check with your doctor before trying any detox remedy.
The next time you’re feeling run down or like you’re coming down with something, try this Detox Bath with Ginger and sweat the toxins out of your body. Like home remedies? Try my Flu Survival Tea recipe. For another Ginger Detox recipe, check out Turning the Clock Back.
