A Paleo smoothie is a great way to start the morning. Some days, I just don’t have time to enjoy a sit-down breakfast. This low carb smoothie is a delicious choice.

Banana Almond Paleo Smoothie
Some days, the kids have been just pokey and disorganized enough to make me late. Others, I have an early phone call with a client. Either way, I need something fast and portable for breakfast that is still healthy.
Most portable breakfasts are fairly high in carbohydrates and sugars. That’s not really what I want to eat first thing in the morning. This Paleo smoothie is a great alternative.
I don’t find it filling and the crash after the sugar high doesn’t leave me very productive for the rest of the day. Get your almond milk here.
I added pumpkin seeds to my smoothie but you could easily add sunflower seeds instead. So, I have read conflicting information about Stevia and the Paleo diet. Some articles say that it is fine in moderation since it is natural.
Other articles say that since it has been processed into a powder, it should be avoided. I enjoy my smoothies on the sweet side, so adding a packet of Stevia work for me. If you’d rather not use Stevia, you can certainly leave it out. It still tastes good. it is just not quite as sweet without the Stevia.
Is almond and banana a good combination?
I love the combination! Adding almond milk to my breakfast smoothie is one of the easiest ways to keep this recipe paleo. Plus, nuts are a valuable source of protein to help you feel full longer.
Adding the almonds and pumpkin seeds gives this Paleo smoothie a little bit of crunch to it which is fun.

I just made this for breakfast, minus the stevia, because I can’t stand the taste. It was SO GOOD.
If you can get korintje cinnamon, do–it has a deeper and slightly sweeter cinnamon taste than regular. It is what Cinnabon uses on their cinnamon rolls. I got it at a local spice store in PA but I’m betting Penzey’s would have it or you could order it online somewhere. I use it for baking, applesauce and other things where you just want a slightly more pungent cinnamon taste. It helps with not needing a lot of additional sweetener too–so big win!
I’m so glad you liked it. I will have to see if I can find the korintje cinnamon. Maybe my food coop will have it.
Yummy I love bananas
