Shopping on Black Friday is a bit of a tradition here. It’s a day that many people head to the stores to begin their Christmas shopping and it’s a day that many retailers offer their lowest prices of the season. If you’d like to get the best deals possible, look for them on Black Friday but be prepared to brave the crowds. Thank you to shopkick for sponsoring this conversation today.

How to Get Rewarded by Shopping on Black Friday
When I shop, I want to save the most money possible. I look for coupons, sales, rebates, and freebies whether I’m grocery shopping or Christmas shopping. I use paper coupons and a variety of different apps on my iPhone to find the best price and to earn money back. One thing that almost all of them have in common is that you have to spend money to save money. But, there is one app that lets you reward yourself by simply walking into the store and scanning an item.
While you’re out shopping this year for the latest tech gadgets, apparel, health & beauty items, toys for your kids and even gifts for your pets, be sure to take shopkick with you. It’s a popular shopping rewards app that gives you points they call “kicks”, just for walking into stores like Walmart, Target, Macy’s, TJ Maxx and BestBuy on Black Friday and throughout the holiday season. You can get kicks even if you don’t buy anything at all.
Using shopkick is simple and there are different ways to earn kicks, while you’re at home and out visiting stores. You can be rewarded for browsing content in the app, walking into stores, for scanning products, and for purchasing items. This Black Friday, shopkick is offering 200 kicks just for walking into BestBuy, Macy’s, Target, Walmart, American Eagle, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Aerie, Carter’s, Osh Kosh, Brighton, Fragrance Outlet, Micro Center, and more. You know that you’ll be visiting these stores anyway because they offer so many different things on your holiday list!
Then once you’re there, you can earn even more kicks for scanning items, even if you don’t buy them. You’ll also get kicks at participating retailers when you make purchases with a linked VISA or MasterCard, and even more when you upload your receipts for participating products.
There are lots more stores where you can earn kicks, including grocery stores, department stores, club stores and drug stores. You can even earn kicks from stores like Home Depot, Whole Foods, Dollar General, Old Navy, Staples, Michaels and Bed Bath & Beyond. How much you can earn and where will vary each week.
From Black Friday all the way up to December 25th, shopkick will be offering a TON of new ways to earn kicks and reward you for shopping. Plus more through weekly sweepstakes with 50,000 kicks awarded for the best gift-giving ideas and 2x kicks for purchases the weekend following Black Friday.
Then as soon as you start earning kicks, you can choose from fun ways to redeem them, from Kate Spade handbags and movie tickets, to gift cards from Target and lattes from Starbucks. You can also donate your kicks to support the Red Cross and Feeding America.
Download shopkick today from the App Store or get it on Google Play.

Now that’s something I’d love to get rewarded for–window shopping! Thanks for featuring this cool new site to me. I’m behind on the money-saving apps and I do not plan on braving the store crowds this Black Friday either. I just read yesterday that a man was knifed in the Gelson market nearest me, trying to help a security guy detain a shoplifter! The mayhem has already started! This looks like a great money saver and thanks for the step-by-step instructions.
I love that you don’t need to purchase things to get rewarded for this. It’s so scary the way things are in the world right now!
