Minimalist Entertainment Center
Creating a minimalist entertainment center isn’t as easy as you think. With a family full of movie buffs and gaming addicts, our entertainment is the center of our living room. We have a television, cable box, gaming systems, DVD/Blu-ray players, speakers, remotes, wires … you the picture.
It’s certainly far from minimalist. But, we don’t want to give any of it up. We just want to streamline it somehow. We want less clutter without giving up the performance, sound or speed we’re used to.
When choosing a minimalist entertainment center, keep in mind that you will want some type of hidden storage. If you have recessed cabinets in your living room, it won’t be as much of an issue. But, if you are counting on your entertainment center to hold your movies, video games, and remote controls, you will want them behind a solid door to keep the clutter hidden.
Contemporary entertainment center ideas
Many contemporary entertainment centers are streamlined and simple when it comes to style. That’s very appealing for those that are looking for less clutter. There are plenty of modern TV stands for flat screens that offer space on top for your television and shelves and drawers below for your accessories.
Another suggestion is that you look for a modern floating entertainment center. These types of entertainment centers are typically wall mounted. This means that you’ll need storage space elsewhere for all of your accessories and devices. It’s also vital that you go as wireless as possible so you don’t have wires sticking out all over the place. Using the Bose® Smart Home Speakers with Bass Module and Surround Sound Speaker lets you enjoy sound throughout your home without the wires.
If you’re using a contemporary modern wall unit entertainment center, there are still many ways that you can keep the design minimalist. Here are a few ways to get started.
Declutter and organize
Consider which movies, games, and tech items you actually still use. Are there movies you’re kids have outgrown or games they no longer play? Are you streaming your movies now and no longer watching your DVDs? Donate things that you no longer use.
Go wireless when possible
Again, random wires sticking out all over the place in your entertainment center is not visually pleasing. It also looks cluttered which isn’t the overall result you want when putting together a minimalist entertainment center. Ditch the speakers that connect to your television with wires and opt for the Bose® Smart Home Speakers with Bass Module and Surround Sound Speaker.
The new Bose family of smart speakers and soundbars has built-in voice control from Amazon Alexa that puts millions of songs at the tip of your tongue. And with Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® compatibility, you can wirelessly stream whatever you want, however you want.
Control goes way beyond voice. Enjoy one-touch access to the music you love or manage it all from the Bose Music app. Want more music in more rooms? The new Bose family of smart speakers and soundbars works together.
The Bose Soundbar 700, designed to be the world’s best soundbar, delivers an unmatched combination of sophisticated design and exceptional sound. The stylish Bose Soundbar 500 has a thin profile that fits discreetly under your TV, while its powerful acoustics fill the room with sound. And the Bose Home Speaker 500 delivers the widest sound of any smart speaker.
When creating a minimalist entertainment center for your home, you don’t want to sacrifice quality. Adding a soundbar is an awesome way to get superior sound without the clutter. Go wireless and enjoy! Learn more about Bose at Best Buy.

Yes I can relate to having clutter issues with all my exercise DVDs which I refuse to give up. Of course you need the fitness toys that go along with them so more clutter! I’d love to store more on the wall but the apartment is limiting. For now I’m using the storage cubes but keep searching for ideas. I know I can thin out and donate more of the older, less used DVDs, so keeping at it.
It definitely can be a challenge, Deb. It’s an ongoing process!
