Did you ever make something a little bit different from the norm for dinner and just sort of sneak it in without telling anyone? I’ve been trying to experiment in the kitchen a bit more since I get tired of the same old meals. The problem is that the rest of the family likes the plain old meals without variations. Today I decide to do a spin on our traditional spaghetti and make this easy pasta puttanesca recipe instead.

Easy Pasta Puttanesca Recipe
If you’re not familiar with pasta puttanesca, technically, it would be called spaghetti alla puttanesca. The spaghetti part is those long stringy noodles you’re probably familiar with. The alla is “of the” and puttanesca is Italian for whore. No, it really is. It’s an Italian pasta dish that was created in the mid twentieth century that is slightly salty and slightly tangy.
Legend has it that it was named because the aroma of the sauce as it cooked would lure men in off the streets to visit the ladies of the evening. Whatever the reason is, I have been wanting to try it and decided not to mention it wasn’t really my traditional spaghetti sauce recipe. It was a huge hit, so I wanted to share it with you.

I picked up some Truvia when I grocery shopped at my local Shaw’s Market this past weekend. The sweetness helps offset the tang of the sauce. Using the Mymixx app, I learned that there was an .85c coupon on Truvia. MyMixx is a new personalized savings app from Shaw’s Markets that you can download to your phone to clip digital coupons. It’s really easy to use. You just redeem the coupons at the register using your phone number. You can make shopping lists and even get digital receipts by text or email by using MyMixx.
Using MyMixx is so much easier than clipping coupons. I love that I found so many healthy products there including Truvia, Sugar in the Raw and even Newman’s Own. This will definitely make shopping easier for me! Check out the MyMixx video for more information.
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Shaw’s. The opinions and text are all mine.
