A Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven

Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven Reviews

When I was younger, I used to love watching cooking programs on television.  I remember sitting on the couch with my Mom watching Julia Child prepare all of these amazing French dishes.

I was sure that when I got married, I would prepare meals for my family just like she did.  When I got married at 18 and moved out on my own, I realized that working full time and taking care of a home and husband didn’t leave a lot of time to spend three hours in the kitchen each night preparing exquisite French dishes.

I found myself using boxed and canned foods to prepare dinner until I received a cookbook for working women as a gift one year for Christmas. That began my search for meals that were healthy and could be prepared in the amount of time I had to spend in the kitchen.

I started searching for healthy shortcuts and ways to save time in the kitchen that wouldn’t sacrifice taste and quality. I purchased my first microwave but quickly stopped cooking in it because the food just tasted horrible when prepared that way.

So, I got rid of our microwave over five years ago and have never used one since but that hasn’t stopped me from looking for shortcuts in the kitchen. After I heard about pressure ovens, I started looking for Wolfgang Puck pressure oven reviews to see how they stacked up. Find out more here

What is the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven

The Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven is a countertop oven that uses low pressure and even heat distribution in a sealed oven chamber to provide faster cooking and improved flavor without sacrificing moisture. Find out more here.

As an example, a 13-pound turkey would take four hours in a traditional oven.  In the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven, it will be ready in just under an hour.

You can cook in two different modes with the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven.  You can cook in pressure mode or standard mode.

How much time does it save?

The Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven allows you to roast, bake, broil, toast, and re-heat.  Your food will brown and be caramelized the same way it would in an oven but in a fraction of the time.  Poultry cooks in a third of the time or less.

Steaks and ribs are finished in 60% of the time. You can roast vegetables in the time it takes your roast to sit before you carve it. You can even make baked goods that will rise and cook more quickly than in a traditional oven.

an inside look at the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven and accessories

The Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven is very easy to use.  You use the function knob to select pressure or standard mode and allow it to preheat. You lower the sealing lever to either the standard position or the seal position.

Then, you adjust the vent release valve to seal for pressure cooking or vent for standard cooking.  You set the desired cooking time and wait until cooking is complete.

This is where it gets different.  If you are cooking in pressure mode, you turn the vent release valve to vent and wait until the steam has released. Then you raise the sealing lever to standard mode and open the door.  If you are cooking in standard mode, you simply open the door.

The Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven comes with a number of accessories:

  • Baking/broil rack
  • Drip/baking pan
  • Roasting pan
  • Crumb tray
  • A rotisserie rod
  • Rotisserie screws
  • Rotisserie tins
  • Rack removal tool

How do you use it?

You do not need to rotate your foods part way through for them to cook evenly.   If you want to use your Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven in standard mode, you can simply use your favorite recipe and there is no need to change anything.

If you want to use it in pressure mode, you can follow the recipes in the enclosed cookbook or experiment with your favorite recipes to find the correct time. There is a guide in the back of the manual that tells you how long most meats will need to cook by weight in both the standard and pressure modes.

The Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven can be cleaned with a damp soapy cloth.  Accessories can be placed in the dishwasher.

You can use glass or metal in the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven but should not put paper, cardboard, or plastic in the oven.

Wolfgang Puck pressure oven recipes

I have used the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven to make two different things so far. So far, I  have made an Apple Abracadabra Cake and Baked Cheeseburger Pasta.

I made both in the pressure mode of the Wolfgang Puck Pressure Oven.  Both were amazingly delicious and done in less time than a traditional oven. So, if you want to save time in the kitchen without sacrificing quality, this is definitely the kitchen appliance you need.

  1. I just bought one and I can’t wait to try it out! I have a big problem- When I got my pressure oven home, I realized that there was nothing inside-no racks, no pan or rotisserie! Does anyone know where I could get replacement accessories?? I don’t care if the racks are used!

  2. Just got mine.....made ONE chicken breast (with bone and skin)......I have to say...that was the most moist chicken breast I have ever cooked....took a little long than I thought it might, using my meat themo - took two tries getting it to 160......splattered olive oil kinda all over the place, didn't make my skin real crispy, but that is OKAY.......... so far so good....(seasoned with a little garlic salt and pepper with a dash of olive oil) TALK ABOUT MOIST....wow...

    • Hi Kari - That is how mine is too. It's a pressure valve like with a pressure cooker and it has to sort of wobble to let some amount of steam out. It is not meant to be a tight seal. If you're concerned email the company and ask. Mine is like that I use it regularly and have had no issues.

  5. I haven't heard of a counter top oven before (other than a toaster oven, which is usually much smaller than this one). I love the idea of getting oven-quality food from a smaller, faster appliance. We would use this all the time! Thanks for the review. I'm definitely going to check this out.
