How do you dye frosting pink naturally?
This naturally pink frosting recipe is free of high fructose corn syrup and artificial food coloring. So, you can make it darker or lighter depending on how much of the pureed strawberries you add.
Just be aware that the puree will thin your frosting a little bit so you may need to adjust the amount of confectioners sugar you add.
Pink frosting variations
So, while I used strawberries to naturally dye my frosting, this recipe would also work with raspberries or cherries if those were in season.
You can also try blueberries or black raspberries for blue or purple frosting. Just be certain to choose organic fruit when you buy or pick it.
I have also heard people using beet juice or cranberry juice to dye frosting without food coloring. If you try that, then let me know how it works.
