My home was built in 1865 and it has a lot of what I like to call character. Many people would call it a lot of things that need to be fixed, but I like character better. Because it has character, we are constantly working on managing home improvement projects. I’d love to just go out and upgrade and repair everything in our home at once but that’s not happening. Since I like to know the cost and amount of time each project is going to take, I have been researching home maintenance programs to stay organized.

Managing Home Improvement Projects
Managing home improvement projects is much easier when you use a home remodeling software like HomeZada for inspiration. HomeZada is a unique online cloud solution that allows homeowners the ability to manage their home all in one place. This includes home inventory, maintenance, renovation projects and all the associated finances. I’ve been using HomeZada for managing home improvement projects. They have a library of common home improvement projects to choose from or you can create a new project.
Marty and I noticed some damage to our roof this winter and were planning on having a new roof put in this summer. After taking a look at the HomeZada site, I realized that we may want to have some spot repairs done instead. Even at the low end, $12,000 is a lot of money for a new roof.
Of course, that’s just an estimate and the final cost will depend on several different variables. I can build a project using that information to figure out more details. I can adjust the variables to see how it will change the price estimate.
HomeZada can do a lot more than figure out the cost of home improvement projects. You can also use it to keep track of your home inventory. When power to our home was shorted out a few months ago due to a problem on electric pole outside our home, I had to scramble trying to figure out the serial numbers, model types and replacement values for everything that was damaged. It would have been so much easier to record that information in HomeZada and then print out the information for the insurance company.
You can even create to do lists and assign them to different people using HomeZada. This is a great way to keep track of the projects you want certain people to handle regularly. For example, I take care of some of our landscaping projects and our landscaper handles the rest. Using HomeZada, I can assign some tasks to him and some to me and then keep track of when they are done. HomeZada even provides recommendations for different maintenance jobs that may need to be done based on what season it is and what type of home & out buildings you have.
Right now, you can take advantage of FREE Membership at HomeZada. Get organized with this online and mobile software today and create an entire digital home profile.
