Instant Pot Italian Beef Dinner
I am absolutely in love with my electric pressure cooker. So, meals that normally take 5 hours on high in the slow cooker can be on the table in an hour using this.
Even better, I can forget to defrost something for dinner and still have supper ready in an hour! How does it get better than that?
What cut of meat is Italian beef made from? This recipe is super easy to make and it’s fairly flexible. I used a Certified Angus Chuck Steak, to begin with.
It’s an affordable cut of meat that’s easy to cook. It comes out super tender in the pressure cooker.
If you have stew meat, you can use that too. Or, you can start with a pot roast. It’s amazing either way. Or, why not try this with a pork roast next time you have one?
Pork goes wonderfully with any type of Italian sauce. And, it’s very easy to make in the pressure cooker using the same settings as this meal.
What should I serve with this dinner?
So, technically, my Instant Pot Italian Beef Dinner is a meal in itself. It contains meat, vegetables, and starch. Now, you could always serve bread or homemade rolls with this if you like.
Or, try my Italian Rosemary Bread Recipe. Or, you can add a fresh garden salad if you’re trying not to go too carb-heavy.
This Instant Pot Italian roast was one of my husband’s favorite meals in the pressure cooker. He’s definitely a meat and potatoes kind of a guy.
If you’re looking for a Paleo recipe, simply leave out the potatoes or substitute turnip or parsnips instead. Finally, if you have leftover meat, I highly recommend you make a Pressure Cooker Italian Beef Sandwich.
Pressure Cooker Italian Beef Sandwich
Just heat the meat and shred it using meat claws and serve on a Kaiser roll. You can add extra spaghetti sauce if you like.
It’s one of our favorite ways to enjoy leftovers. To enjoy a “sandwich” without bread you can serve this on lettuce leaves or use a Paleo wrap. Or, you can always serve it over Jasmine rice for a brand new meal using leftovers.
I love meals that use up leftovers because it’s easy on my budget.
So, if you enjoy using this as much as I do, check out a few of the hacks in the video above. Who would have thought?

Tips for cleaning up
I love cooking with this small appliance and clean up couldn’t be easier. The inner cooking pot simply lifts out to be washed in warm soapy water.
Now, if you think you’ll have something that will be sticky or messy, they do offer a coated non-stick inner cooking pot you may want to try.
And, if you cook something with a very strong taste like garlic or curry, you might want to change the seal ring before you make something with a completely different taste like a dessert.
Because the ring is porous, it can carry over odors which might impact the next thing you make.
So, one thing that I find super handy is the steam release valve release accessory. It funnels the steam away from the under part of your cabinets.
If you’re like me, your small appliances sit directly under your cabinets. And, when the steam releases, it vents right straight up into the cabinet base.
I don’t want my cabinets damaged by the steam. This accessory fixes that problem.
Love your pressure cooker? Try my Instant Pot Corned Beef and Cabbage. Or, if you want something different for dinner, why not try my Italian Scallop Tortellini Bake.
It’s not a pressure cooker meal, but if you love Italian food I hope that you’ll give it a try. It’s one of our favorite pasta dishes and it’s so easy to make.
