Making a household cleaning center is one of the things I’ve done to help me get back on track with the housework. Get the free printable here.

Household Cleaning Schedule
I find that if I don’t use a household cleaning schedule, I forget when the last time was that I did something. I’m quite sure that I dusted just a few days ago… or was it a few weeks ago?
Then all of a sudden I find myself looking at a house that isn’t as clean as I’d like it to be. Instead of being able to focus on a few tasks a day, I find myself looking at a house that is in serious need of a lot of work.
I’ve tried all sorts of lists to keep track of my household cleaning schedule and I end up losing them or piling papers on top of them. I wanted something that would not get lost or crumpled or accidentally thrown away.
So, I decided if the household cleaning schedule was something I would need to look at every single day, I might as well make it look nice.
I decoupaged six clothespins and then created a household cleaning schedule center that I could attach to the refrigerator with magnets.
Each day has a piece of paper with that day’s chores on it. I can take the pieces of paper out and reprint them as I need to based on my workload or the time of year.
Cleaning Center Supplies
- 2 to 4 magnets depending on the strength
- 6 clothespins
- Scrapbook paper for clothespins
- Modge Podge
- Cardboard for backing
- Heavier stock scrapbook paper for backing
- Cute buttons or beads
- Glue dots
- Scissors or a personal paper cutter
Cut six strips of scrapbook paper to fit the top of each clothespin. Do not let the paper hang over the edges.
Lightly coat the top of each clothespin with Modge Podge. Place a strip of scrapbook paper carefully on the clothespin. Cover with a light coat of Modge Podge to seal. Allow it to dry.
Using glue dots, stick a cute button or bead on the top of each clothespin as a decoration. Or leave it blank if you prefer.
Cut a piece of cardboard to be the back of your schedule. Using glue dots, stick the heavier stock scrapbook paper on top of the cardboard.
Using glue dots, stick the clothespins to the heavier stock scrapbook paper. I chose to use six clothespins so I did three clothespins on each row.
Create a household cleaning schedule and print it out. Or print mine out and use that. Cut to fit your board and clip each day to the board.
Do you use a household cleaning schedule? Does it help you keep organized throughout the week?
