Healthy Football Party Snacks

While I’m all for veggie trays and fruit platters, I get really odd looks from the guys when I offer this as a snack option.  I’m not about to haul out the cheez whiz  just because it’s party time. I’d still like to offer healthy party snacks, especially since both my kids will be loading up their plates along with the guys.

What are healthy football party snacks?

Healthy means different things to different people so I try to offer a variety of different snacks that will appeal to everyone. Since I’d prefer not to spend the entire day in the kitchen, I go for easy to prepare healthy foods or already prepared foods that are healthy. Here are a few simple healthy recipes you can offer your guests.

Healthy football party snacks that are easy to make

If you’re looking for healthy football party snacks that don’t take a lot of time, you can literally buy these prepared from the grocery store. No time at all required on your part. Just stop by the grocery store that morning and pick these up. Order them a few days ahead of time to make sure that they have them ready when you need them.

Of course, you’ll also want to provide beverages for your guests. We don’t drink or offer alcohol when we entertain so we stick to mocktails and other healthy drinks that can be enjoyed by everyone.  Here are a few things that work for us.

  • Fruit-infused water

We’re huge fans of Pirate’s Booty, and I always have a huge bowl available for our parties. I love that it’s gluten-free and has no artificial colors or preservatives! It’s the perfect choice for gluten-free game day food.

Natural drink mixes for an easy beverage

I received some samples from True Citrus of their naturally flavored drink mixes. They come in a variety of different flavors and contain no artificial flavors or preservatives.

Some are sweetened with sugar and some with stevia so you’ll have something for everyone to enjoy whether they are watching their sugar intake or not. They get their flavor from real fruit and can easily be added to water.

You can also get True Citrus crystalized fruit. Each packet contains crystallized fruit that can be added to your water, beverages, and more. They are unsweetened and have no calories and no sugar.

They are also free of artificial sweeteners, colors, sodium, and preservatives. We’ll be enjoying these at our big game day party! They go great with these healthy football party snacks.

  1. I think these healthy options still sound pretty appealing to men! And they are still a lot healthier than battered and fried typical appetizers and sides.

  2. I haven't heard of True Citrus but it sounds tasty. I like creating homemade pizzas as well, sometimes not on game days :) that way you know what's going into it vs. frozen pizzas.

  3. I received some samples from True Citrus also and was pleasantly surprised at all their products. I can't keep much fresh citrus around for just myself before it goes bad, so these citrus products are a great alternative. They will be great for travel too.
