This healthy Greek yogurt parfait is the perfect summer treat! I love summer fruits like strawberries and blueberries so we add them to a lot of summer desserts. Sometimes, we pick fresh berries at our local berry patch. Other times, we buy them from the farm stand or the grocery store.

Healthy Greek Yogurt Parfait
So, why Greek yogurt? Greek yogurt is higher in protein than regular yogurt and will help fill you up. This is perfect when you’re looking for a healthy breakfast or a healthy snack. Greek yogurt is lower in lactose and contains probiotic cultures. I use plain, unflavored Greek yogurt to avoid the added sugars. You can use any variety that you like in this recipe.
Is Greek yogurt healthy?
Yes, Greek yogurt is a healthy option when choosing yogurt provided that you don’t choose a variety that is high in sugar or has add-ins like cookies or candy. Look for plain, unflavored Greek yogurt and add your own fresh fruit.
What is yogurt parfait?
A yogurt parfait is a layered dessert or breakfast that consists of layers of yogurt and layers of different types of fresh fruit. This particular Greek yogurt parfait uses strawberries and blueberries to give the dessert a patriotic look. You might want to try my yogurt parfait with cereal or my apple cinnamon parfait with granola. Or, this dragon fruit parfait is delicious if you want to include a less common fruit.
Is yogurt and granola a healthy breakfast?
Both yogurt and granola can be high in fat and sugar. So, I often serve parfaits as a dessert rather than as breakfast. If you are serving this as breakfast, look for plain yogurt and granola that is low in sugar and has no extra candy add-ins. Make sure that you look at the serving size for the granola. It might be smaller than you think it is.
Is Greek yogurt keto?
If you choose plain Greek yogurt and limit your serving to only five ounces, you can enjoy it on a keto diet. Most fruit is rather high in carbs and you won’t want to eat much of it if you’re trying to stay in ketosis. But, if you opt for only a few smaller berries, you should be fine. You may want to choose raspberries and blueberries instead of strawberries since raspberries tend to be less sweet. And, be sure that you don’t add any extra sugar or sweetener to your Greek yogurt parfait.
You can always make your own homemade yogurt if you’re not able to find plain Greek yogurt at the store. Check out this article where I show you how to make yogurt in an Instant Pot or learn how to make yogurt without an Instant Pot.
I serve this in a Mason jar because we have so many extras from canning. However, if you’re planning on this for a summer party, you may want to use glass parfait cups.
