My Grandmother is in a nursing home in Connecticut. She is 92 and there isn’t a lot that she really wants or needs for Christmas. I always try to find extra special Christmas cards to send her each year. She likes to display them in her room so I want to get her something that’s truly pretty. Lately, I have not had much luck finding cards for her that I really liked. When I was asked to review the Festive Flurry Ornament Kit from Stampin’ Up!, I knew it would be the perfect card for her.

Extra Special Christmas Cards
With the Festive Flurry Ornament Kit from Stampin’ Up!, you can easily create a beautiful snowflake and use it in a variety of ways! You can take any package and make it beautiful, decorate a home or tree easily, and enhance a party invitation in just minutes. All of the hard work has been done – the cutting, scoring of folds – everything. All you have to do is bring your glue gun and assemble. There is a video that shows you step by step how to create them. I watched it on my phone and it was very easy to follow along.
I was very impressed with how easy it was to press out the precut and scored pieces. It took just a few seconds to pop out the pieces. You can use the kit to create Christmas cards (just supply a blank card and envelope) or you can create ornaments to hang on a tree or use as decor or on Christmas gifts. Each sheet has 4 pieces – one is a circle that won’t be used if you attach the snowflake to a card. Also included in the kit is silver glittery stars, ribbon and rhinestones.
You fold two of the snowflake pieces at the folds. It’s very simple to do since they are all scored. Using a hot glue gun, you glue a flat piece on the blank card, add the folded pieces one by one (pinching to let the hot glue dry) and then top with the small flat snowflake piece. You add a rhinestone on top to finish each off.
I was originally just going to make one card for my Grandmother but I had so much fun making them that I made them all. I did some on a gray note card and some one a blue note card. I did two as decorations to hang on each end of the string we hang our Christmas cards on.
To turn them into ornaments, just flip them over, glue a short piece of ribbon to the back, and then cover it with a circle.
One of my readers will win this kit to make their own extra special Christmas cards.
