Being a Lutron Ambassador as part of a Mom Central Consulting campaign has given me more electricity consumption awareness than I have ever had before. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating. I would have shared this information with you anyway because we have been trying to improve our electricity consumption awareness and lower our electric bill.

Sometimes, it seems like I automatically flip a light on even when I don’t need it. I often forget things like shutting off the Keurig when I am done with it. I know it will power down automatically eventually so I just leave it on. My husband turns the television on at 5am for the news and I often find he forgets to turn it off so it plays endlessly while I am working. I know that all of this adds up to extra money on our electric bill and puts extra strain on the Earth’s resources.
Electricity Consumption Awareness
Since receiving the Lutron Occupancy Sensor Switch, I am noticing when the light comes on and by noticing when something is turned on, I find myself making sure that it’s really off. If one of the kids does forget to turn off the light, I like knowing that the Lutron Occupancy Sensor Switch will remember. Just that bit of awareness has encouraged me to take a look at a few other areas of our electricity consumption. I have found myself hanging a few more loads of clothes each week and turning the water off when I am washing dishes.
If you are looking for ways to cut your electricity consumption, the Lutron Occupancy Sensor Switch is definitely an easy place to start. It’s very easy to install. You can read about the installation process. I did most of the installation by myself with just a little bit of guidance from my father. It senses when someone enters the room and turns on the light if there isn’t enough light in the room. When a person leaves & it senses no more movement, it will turn the light off. There are adjustments you can make to personalize how this happens.
Save 25% off Maestro occupancy/vacancy sensor dimmers and switches on LutronStore.com PLUS one free Claro single-gang wallplate ($4.90 suggested list price) with each qualifying item using promocode wholeftthelightson Good through October 31, 2013.
